I've lived in East Lyme for twenty years and have found Finer Consignor to be a top notch consignment shop. I've been to high end consignment shops in New England and find her inventory of good quality,stylish, and gently worn. Judy has been in the business for many, many years and is knowledgeable about the merchandise she carries. Her shop is chock-full of goodies and 99% of the time I walk away with some great finds. Yes, there are garments hanging in the doorway as you walk it, but those garments invite me in to browse. If you ask Judy for assistance she will gladly help you out or even suggest some other great find you may have missed. Check it out you won't be disappointed and if you don't find what your looking for today you certainly will find something on your next trip. more

Overpriced. And I agree with the woman who didn't like the garments flying her face. Same experience here on 8-19-16. Person attending not friendly. Done with this place. more

Clean and very organized shop. Extremely helpful and attentive. Top quality and very current styles and almost everything was a brand name. I was so impressed by it all! Prices were also very good and was informed that they always have items marked down to half price....so there were many sale items to be found. I purchased a Coach purse for $69.00 that I saw at the Coach Outlet in Clinton for $199.00. It was the exact same purse....just slightly used. I couldn't have been happier!!! I was excited to find out that there was a consignment shop in East Lyme. I buy lots of retro suits and separates, so I thought I would check them out. Well, I guess they go by the "no service" philosophy. After figuring out that you had to walk through outfits hanging in your face to find the doorway, I entered, eager for some "finds". When I entered, there were 3 women up front. I believe one was a regular customer, the other two owners and /or employees. They glanced at me and immediately went back to their conversation without missing a beat. I browsed around, did see some things I wanted to try on, but was dismayed by the fact that still no one said a word to me. I returned the items and walked out, getting hit in the face by a pair of pants flying in the wind outside as the final insult. I will not be back. more

I was impressed with The Finer Consignor consigment shop in East Lyme, Connecticut. All of their items are current or recent styles, in good condition,and displayed attractively. The prices are reasonable. I've seen DKNY, Chico's, Vera Bradley, and other such good labels. There are lots of accessories of all kinds, too. I just brought home a straw hat with floral decoration that enchanted me and wouldn't let me leave it there. It was 50% off the original consignment price (sale price $3.50), as were many other items in the shop. If they accept your items for consignment and they sell them, your commission is 50%. Call first to see if they're accepting items at that time. more
