The Famous Fox & Hounds

Good: It was our 36 anniversary and I thought this would be a great place to have dinner - I was wrong!. Bad: Service was horrible - we waited more than 7 minutes for a waitress. Seating was also tight on a night when it was raining and there were few customers, we were seated back to back with a large family. The room was loud and dark. Food was mediocre at best. None of the wait staff were approachable.. Improvements: My parents used to take me here and it was a wonderful memory. Now I would tell 20 people not to go there because the experience, mostly with the staff, was so awful.. Other: There is a lot of advertising "near beautiful holy hill, seven fireplaces with staff that will treat you like family" -- the only truth is it is near the beautiful holy hill area. more

EVERY restaurant has off nights and cooks meals that aren't up to standards. I hope the previous poster refused her meal the 2nd time it came back sending it back to the kitchen. If she didn't, the restaurant probably assumes she ended up happy. Every dinner at every visit(about 5) our group had was very good. The decor is fun. Prices are decent. more

I have heard great things about The (old) Fox and Hound Restaurant in Hubertus. They resently changed owners and I with we would have tried it sooner !!! My husband and our dear friends went out for what we thought would be a nice steak dinner. The bread, soup and salad were good but when the main meal was served it was horrible !!! Mushrooms burnt, steaks done wrong, my steak was not like licking salt lick (the garlic mashed potatoes covered that) but was like taking the black pepper shaker and dumping in my mouth. Yuk !!! I have never ever complained about a meal to the waitress but there is a first time for everything !!! The waitress took the steak and brought back the same steak with a water puddle on top of it !!! She said ~ The cook seared off the seasoning and I knew what they did. Nothing like a steak rinsed under water and given to you back with the puddle and cold to the touch !!!
