Editorial review from Citysearch 6/11/2013

I went to The Facial Pain Center on the referral of my dentist. I didn't do any research or I would have never kept the appointment.\r \r I completed the medical history paperwork in pencil (it was what I had), then was told with a condescending tone from the receptionist that they couldn't accept that. I filled it all out again with a pen, which they now provided. Receptionist attitude came across that I was a disruption to her other, more important duties. Rude from the moment I walked in.\r \r My initial consult, which consisted of 10 minutes of questions, 5 minutes of ""measurements"" and 5 minutes of handing pamphlets to me, cost $567. I was told my jaw was likely permanently locked (?!) but that we'd 'see how a mouthguard' worked. The mouthguard was $1200. When asked why, I was told 'that's just what we charge.' Having had a mouthguard in the past for a tenth of the cost, this made no sense. I immediately bailed. Overall, the quality of the consult was low (didn't learn anything I didn't already know and there was little/no plan of action), the office atmosphere was unpleasant, and the cost was ridiculous. I have great insurance but refuse to go back. I have reported this to my insurance company and my dentist. Will look for other options. more

Facial pain center 11/29/2010

I was so disappointed with my visit to The Facial Pain Center. The receptionist was not friendly and the nurse was acting like she didn't like her job. I was really hoping for some answers but everything the doctor said I already knew. It was a waste of time and it was expensive! Hope to find a better place to go to. more

Every visit is a pleasant experience 8/8/2009

The doctor always makes me feel like I'm really important. She is a wonderful doctor, caring and compasionate. I always look forward to my appointment because she knows to listen my concerns. She is an incredible problem solver and gets to the core issues of my pain.. I am always very comfortable and the entire staff is warm and friendly and I always feel welcome. Pros: the best care for my jaw problems Cons: sometimes it is hard to get in immediately more

Kudos for a great time 7/16/2009

The receptionist was pleasant and very helpful. She called my insurance company multiple times to get my pre-authorization taken care of. The doctor was kind and sweet and spent time with me to be sure that I understood my disease process. She answered to all my questions. If you'll drop a bit your fees you'll be the best! more

Not Friendly 5/1/2009

The woman who roomed me never smiled. She also hardly looked at me, never making eye contact. The Dr. was brusk, acted bored going over the information with me, and left quickly. I am a nurse and I know a good clinic setting when I see one. This wasn't it. I thought I was being fussy until I read the other reviews. I will request that my records be sent to another Facial Pain Clinic. I will not be going back there for my dental prosthetic. I would not recommend this clinic to any of my friends or family. Pros: Easy to find and park Cons: They need new personnel more

RIP OFF 1/26/2009

I was scheduled for a consultation and read the previous review of this office. So I called and they quoted the initial consultation at $500!!!!!! How will paying that for a consult help my pain???!!! If anything it will lead to more teeth grinding. Sheesh! more

Awful service and outrageous prices - and I have good insurance!!! 12/3/2008

The dentists are full of themselves, make sure you have good insurance the initial 50 minute consultation costs $10/minute = $500 for one visit. All that for somebody to tell you stuff you already knew. What a joke... more
