NO LITTLE KIDS RIDES 8/26/2012

I was disappointed to spend the money for unlimited ride bracelet for my 3 yr old daughter and she had all of 2 rides that she was allowed on WITH an adult. If there was a designated area, I never found it. more

Favorite local fair 5/9/2006

We go to the Evergreen State Fair without fail, every year. I really prefer it to that larger, more widely known, MUCH more heavily adversited fair in the south end. It's much easier to navigate with kids and all the attractions are here - games, rides, food, animals, crafts. My kids love the pig races - and truth be told, so do I. Fun to watch - once a year, anyway. more

It's a Tradition 3/23/2006

Every year, the Evergreen State Fair comes to town and it's a fun time for the family. Time to get a good, smoked turkey leg, a purple cow, and an onion bloom--the trifecta of the fair. The fair is the same every year--same set up, same food, same displays. But it's a lot of fun, and it's a tradition. So figure out what's good, and look forward to it at the end of summer, when it's time to wind things down. My recommendations are to try the above! more

Fun Fair and a manageable size 8/25/2005

The Evergreen State Fair in Monroe runs the last weekend in July. Much smaller than the Puyallup Western Washington Fair, it has all the same type of attractions at a much easier, more manageable size. You won't have a problem here fighting crowds or finding a bench to take a break. However, you will find the usual rides, exhibits, animals, food, etc. A large field adjacent to the fairgrounds offers ample parking at a price (about $8, I think). You can either walk across to the fairgrounds or take the free shuttle. more
