The Scene
Although it serves as the lounge for one of Boston's most newsworthy restaurants, Enoteca has forged its own identity as a favorite stop of local glitterati and visiting celebrities (Mick Jagger visits when he's in town). Dim lighting and warm tile patterns provide an inviting, sexy atmosphere. Many patrons stop by for a pre-meal drink and, after discovering Enoteca's alluring food and drink menus, decide to stay. On busy nights, stylishly dressed cocktail waitresses shout to be heard over standing-room crowds.
The Draw
The lounge covers its bacchanalian bases with a far-reaching wine list (over 20 served by the glass) and a fashionable drink menu (fresh peach Bellini, anyone?). Hungry patrons can order from Via Matta's modern Italian menu, although budget-minded customers opt for affordable small plates of salmon carpaccio or fresh bruschetta from the lounge's list of Italian bar snacks. Limited floor space and a mellow soundtrack foil those looking to dance.
