This is a neat little theater in downtown Staunton that shows recent movies on the cheap. If you're looking for a cheap date or just want to entertain yourself on a budget, the Dixie is a good place to go. The people are friendly, the popcorn is hot, and the building probably won't fall down on your head (although it's a little decrepit, so be forewarned). more

Get Your Punch Card! 3/23/2006

The Dixie is an old theater in downtown Staunton. The bottom level has been renovated, and the second floor has not. Although the second floor is not the most comfortable for a movie theater experience because of the older, cramped seats, it is a lot of fun to have a unique movie experience. They have a punch card that you can get punched each time you see a movie at the Dixie. Remember to get this and get it punched each time...it will lead you to a free movie! more

Cheap entertainment 9/12/2005

This is an ancient theater in downtown Staunton that plays second run movies and is also home to some local performing arts. Although there was supposed to have been some renovations, it looks like it did twenty years ago. The seats are old and really uncomfortable and your feet stick to the floor from years of gunk. The prices are reasonable and the employees are super nice, but I am not rushing back to see a movie here. more
