LOUD! 10/4/2008

This place is jamming. They absolutely pack them in here. If you can get in it is really a fun time. The chicken box plays live music every night. They do have a cover charge though so peek in and make sure it is not too loud fr you before you pay. Rumor has it that jimmy Buffet plays with the band here with no notice. He just makes a surprise appearance. I stress rumor. I haven't been there when it's happened. more

Sports and drinks 10/10/2005

A group of us visited The Chicken Box when we were desperately looking for a bar in town that had our favorite sports team playing. After calling almost every place in town we discovered that The Chicken Box could provide us the entertainment we were looking for. Our bartender was great and kept the drinks flowing with ease despite the busy bar. Although we did not visit while there was live music, the game on surround sound, pool, and darts kept us happy. We even got to hang out with the locals. Pros: Sports, Large screen TV Cons: Few seats near TV's more

Owner Message

  • The Chicken Box is an unpretentious, friendly and relaxing place to enjoy fun and live music. National as well as local acts play at The Chicken Box. Most bands begin at 10pm and end their set at 1am, with a short break in between. We also have TV, foosball and pool and we serve beer, wine and spirits.

    We sell advance tickets for some national acts. These can only be purchased at the bar. Tickets go on sale one week prior. We can hold tickets at will call. Requests for will call tickets must be submitted to jordin@thechickenbox.com. For most nights, the cover charge ranges from $7 to $10. Entrance is on a first come first served basis.
