I believe the best news paper in West Virginia is the Charleston Gazette. Their news paper is online for free so you can look at it daily. The reporters write really good human interest stories and they don’t seem to be afraid like some news papers of telling the truth even if it would upset the governor. Our state right now is going through reform on Medicaid, some of the changes would have bad effects on participants. This summer I believe the Gazette’s new paper stories on the Aged and Disabled waiver helped legislatures and the community understand what these devastating cuts were doing to people. Over two thousand people were cut of the program, the Gazette stayed on top of the story as well as keeping readers up to date with the pending law suit. This was a success story because all individuals who were cut off the program began to receive services again. I think more news papers should be like the Charleston Gazette and tell people in their communities what is really happening to it citizens.
