Our of the Ashes... 6/30/2010

So the rumor is that this place burned down back in the early 1900s and that the spirits of the people who died in that fire haunt the place to this day. Well I can't speak for that, but I can say that I've been there twice now since the new owners came in and I have loved the food both times. The first time I went, I was given the schpeel on how the new guys are working diligently to raise the level of service and fix the place up. Turns out they weren't full of BS. I liked it well that first time and even better the second. The menu had gotten bigger and the wait staff handled me much better. It's the best view on the lake and now it's becoming the best food too. I'll keep going back. Pros: Top Notch Entrees, Great Staff Cons: Old Building Still Being Buffed Up more

Lakeside dining with bad music 7/26/2008

First and last time here. Wow what an experience. 4 ?meals? for $62. Save your money and go to McDonalds. Fried clam platter is not a platter nor fried. This was a basket of a miniscule portion of oil drenched little dough nuggets with a clam flavor served over oil drenched home cut fries. Howard Johnson?s would have been 20 star compared to this. $10.95. BBQ rib-rack was 7 country ribs that came out of vacuum wrapper heated up and commercial sauce poured over it. How they call them their famous ribs is a wonder to me. Country fried chicken was 3 pieces of oil drenched breaded chicken the size of a NY city pigeon. $9.95. Fish n?chips I just never have seen square fish and oil drenched fries. Oh, the box wine is well?.. box wine. If you must have lakeside dining stick with the bottled beer and their burgers. Pros: Lakeside Dining - cold bottled beer - Marina Cons: Needs a new cook - Oil cold everything served dripping oil more
