Great food! 4/18/2011

The Capital Grille has an amazing selection of food from the steak to the salmon you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Although the staff is very knowledgable in my 3 visits 2 of them have come off as rude, I'm not sure if it was just a bad day or something else but it did affect the atmosphere. This is still a place you've got to visit and when you do visit be sure to get the parmesan truffle fries as an appetizer! more

Capital Grille Orlando 8/2/2010

I brought a group of 10 other business associates to the Capital Grille Orlando location on Monday, 7-26-10 for a dinner visit. The food was excellent as expected but the wait staff surpassed any dining experience I have ever enjoyed. Anthony and his crew served our table and everyone involved commented on what a thoroughly professional job they did. They appeared when needed and stayed aside to let everyone enjoy the meal and conversation at other times. All agreed that this was one of if not the most enjoyable dining experiences ever. The evening was a complete success thanks to the staff at this restaurant. Pros: Wonderful food, trem, endous ambience Cons: TOO MUCH FOOD!!! more

Never Again 2/9/2010

We ordered 2 Peppercorn Delmonicos and 1 Filet. The Delmonicos were tough, chewy and difficult to cut, we did not eat them and they were removed from the bill. The Filet was tasteless and unremarkable. The salads were swimming in dressing. All in all, a huge waste of money , time and a huge embarassment while entertaining friends from Europe...... we will never eat there again, a total dissappointment. Save your hard earned cash and go elsewhere. Pros: Good Dark Bread Cons: Everything, Plus Unattentive service more

Always a favorite! 11/30/2009

When you want to go out and have an amazing dinner, this is always a great bet!! The steaks, the appetizer and even the deserts...all of it, never been a bad experience! Service is A+, top shelf! Pros: Amazing food and drinks! Cons: can't think of any more

Lovely Restaurant, Made our Anniversary Awesome! 4/11/2009

I was devastated when I called my favorite restaurant, Manuel's on the 28th, to make a reservation for our 10th anniversary and learned that they had gone out of business. I asked many people for a good romantic restuarant, and got a few suggestions, but was not crazy about any of them. On a whim, I started surfing the web and came across the Capital Grille, and I am so glad I did! First, I was able to make reservations online which was very nice, and was able to make a special request, which I did, telling them we wanted a secluded table as it was our 10th anniversary. When we arrived, there was complimentary valet parking, which is nice since it is right at the entrance to Pointe Orlando. Upon entering, the hostess greeted us by name with a lovely smile, and wished us a happy anniversary. She escorted us to our table, which had been covered with red rose petals, which was a lovely touch. We ordered drinks, which came quickly and were outstanding, DH had a dirty martini which he said was very good, and I had one of their specialty drinks, The Bohemian, which was so good, I had another! It was similar to a bellini, a mixture of Absolut Peach, berry cordial and champagne, outstanding! Our server, Michelle, was very knowledgable, and made excellent recommendations. We had the Carpaccio & the calimari for appetizers, and there was plenty, we could have done with just one. I had the lobster bisque, which had huge chunks of lobster and a delicious sherry broth, DH had spinach salad, he said it was really good. For the entree DH had the Delmonico with some kind of cordial sauce and I had the filet with lobster in butter sauce, which was served over mashed potatoes (oh boy, nothing may be more yummy than rare steak, lobster & mashed potatoes all covered in buttery lemony sauce). Our steaks were cooked perfectly, just as we asked for them. For dessert we had Creme Brulee, which was plenty big for 2. The servings were so large, we brought home 1/2 the calamari and at least 1/4 of each of our dinners. The courses were well spread out, they were not running into each other, and we didn't feel rushed, which is nice, so many places try to speed you along. They also took our picture, and gave it to us at the end of the meal in a little cardboard folder, and wrote on the front the date, and the occasion, which I thought was very nice, a nice finishing touch. We were so full when we left, I thought I would burst, and everything was super good. We were there on a Friday night, at about 8:00, and while they were busy, the service was excellent, we never had to wait with an empty glass, or want for anything. The only possible con is that it is rather expensive, our total with 4 drinks, 2 appetizers, 2 dinners and 1 dessert and coffee was a bit over $200. I don't really think of that as a true con though, as I knew they were a more expensive restaurant going in, we spent what we expected to, but it is something to consder, this is not a cheap night of steak, but if I wanted that I would have gone to Outback, kwim? I will def go back for our next special occassion! Pros: Awesome Service, Awesome Food, Awesome Drinks Cons: None really, but maybe price more

The Capital Grill Does Not Dissappoint 6/4/2008

The Capital Grill is a place to go if you need a meal of high quality. The greeting staff was professional and cordial and sat us as we arrive earlier than our schedule reservation. Our waitresses immediately appeared and offered their services with a clean uniform and a smile. To start, I ordered the smoked salmon and as an entree, I ordered the lamb chops. Both courses had a beautiful presentation and the taste was out of this world. For desert, I had the chocolate espresso cake and a double espresso coffee. The ambiance was that of a high class restaurant that was dark and full of laughter as all the other tables seemed to be enjoying their dinner experience as was I. I highly recommend The Capital Grill for a romantic dinner, a dinner party or even for a dinner if you expect great service and great food. Pros: Service, Food Quality, Ambiance Cons: Price more

Best Steak I ever Had 3/9/2008

The service was great, even though I thought they were weird at the door. The food was the best! I would recommend this place for a special occasion. The steak was big enough to share with my boyfriend. now thats a good deal. especially for a steak like that. it was expensive thought so be prepared for that. more

Great food and customer service. 7/15/2007

The food was fantastic! The service...even better! I have some food allergies and the manager, servers, and chef, went out of their way to make my meal a wonderful dining experience. No matter what the grade of meat is, if the chef doesn't know how to prepare it correctly, it will be " just another piece of meat". This was not " just a steak", it was a tender, juicy steak and it had good flavor. I like mine extra well done, not even a little pink on the inside, so it usually comes out either tough and dry, or it's under cooked. It was perfect. All I had to do was tell the server exactly how I wanted it and it came out right the first time. It had friendly, and yet, very professional, knowledgeable, service. They make you feel important, it's as if you are their only customer. I can see why reservations are suggested. This resturant is a class act! more

This is the place to entertain your customer 7/3/2007

The staff at Capital Grille is top shelf. I took a very important customer group there for dinner and was treated like royalty. We started with the appetizer towers and finished with a wonderful selection of desserts. In between we were treated to perfectly cooked steaks, delicious seafood and a fantastic wine selection. The best part was the satisfaction of the vegetarian in our group. The chef went out of his way to prepare a wonderful meal that he raves about to this day. I have visited several Capital Grille locations but this is by far the best I have encountered. Make sure to make a reservation because they are right across the street from the convention center and get crowded fast. Pros: Great service and wonderful wine selection Cons: fills up fast so make a reservation more

Certified Angus Beef is the best 7/2/2007

The previous post is wrong. Prime is a certification from the federal govt that has to less to do with taste as it does wholesomeness. The beef producers set up the certified angus beef qualifications to ensure that the beef would be certified for quality and taste. CAB is the top 6.5% of all beef produced in the US... higher than govt standards, not less. Do you trust the govt to tell you about meat quality or the producers who take pride in thier product? By the way, Capital Grille does offer a prime Delmonico also. Capital Grille offers great steaks, great service, and the best hospitality towards its guests in the business. Don't just be a snob based on a government classification, trust the professionals and you will not be disappointed. Pros: complimentary valet and self parking. Great service and food more

Disappointed 8/2/2006

Nice place but sure was a disappointment. My first question to my waiter was about what he thought the best Prime cut on the menu was. From the look on his face I could tell I asked the wrong question. That's because it turns out they don't serve Prime only Choice. I got a long speech about the dry-aging and how that makes the steak just as good as prime-yea, right. But you'd never know of the inferior grade of beef from the prices-very expensive. The server was overextended. We had a hard time getting attention. Too many other good steak places in town to go back here. Oh, the martinis were good. $12.50 a pop but they were good. Pros: Good looking room Cons: Not Prime Steaks more
