A Trip To The Roller-Rink!!! 7/30/2010

My girlfriend and I went to The Burger Club on a whim because we had a ScoutMob coupon for 50% off. Upon entering the restaurant we noticed the generic, 'Flintstones-esque' design scheme of the place...which I've come to associate with restaurants that have an identity crisis. They think by making all of the tables multi-colored and oddly shaped that they are putting forward a 'quirky, fun' attitude...when really it just lends the place an awkward, uncomfortable feel. It seemed that the place was definitely designed with families in mind (although there wasn't that much seating) especially the sort with young children. The food on the menu immediately put me in the mind of roller-rink or bowling alley food. Corn-dogs, Hot Dogs, Burgers, tater-tots smothered in florescent orange food-service cheese. Definitely aimed at children. There were a few salads on the menu...but beyond that and a turkey / black bean burger, there weren't many 'healthy options'. I suppose you shouldn't come to a place called The Burger Club and expect healthy...so I shouldn't really hold that against it. Although I would expect a place that definitely caters to the tastes of children to be a little more reasonably priced. It was very expensive for the quality of the food. Not somewhere I would want to take an SUV full of children to eat. In the end I was very happy that I had the ScoutMob coupon to cut the bill in half. The food itself was pretty bland and tasteless. I got a turkey burger that seemed to have absolutely no spices added...and a side of broccoli with the aforementioned food-service (straight from the can) cheese sauce. I was initially thinking about getting the Macaroni and Cheese but my girlfriend had noticed while passing the dumpster on the way in to the restaurant...that it too was food-service (straight out of a box)... Bummer. Needless to say...I was very disappointed in the quality and taste of the food. In closing...The Burger Club seems like a restaurant that would be better suited to the deep suburbs. It seems like a place that is trying it's best to be picked up to become another bland, soulless franchise. I could not recommend this restaurant to anyone. If you would like a better option try Yeah! Burger on the west-side or perhaps Farm Burger in Decatur. Pros: Friendly wait-staff... Cons: Expensive, Tasteless food. more

Burgers and Fun for the Kid in All of Us!

Owner Message
  • As the name connotes, The Burger Club offers a myriad of variations on the all-American staple ranging from sumptuous simplicity to tastes that border on the truly exotic. Try our lamb burger, inspired by family Greek heritage, or the aptly named “Artery Annihilator” – a bacon cheese burger served on a Krispy Kreme glazed donut instead of a bun. Although family friendly, the Burger Club is not just for those with kids. Enjoy a full bar complete with “adult milkshakes” and a separate lounge with numerous TVs, making it a perfect spot to cheer on your favorite teams. The Burger Club even fits the economy, with a burger and a side starting at just $7.50. So grab your appetite, friends and family and head to the newest restaurant in Vinings Jubilee.
