I really like both locations, but this one is more laid-back. Very cool place to just chill with friends. Servers are nice, not snobs like a lot of places I go to. Food is what you would expect from a dive. Drinks are good and not too expensive. Will definitely be going back! more

Been here only a few times but I like it. It's pretty chill. Not as crowded as the one at the Colonnade. Servers are pretty friendly and helpful. Being in Alamo Heights, you can still smoke in there so for me, that's a plus. :-) more

Collonade 5050, food & Music 1/19/2011

Love this bar and the music is okay. Service is good, not too bad considering it can get crowded on Friday nights. I love love love the band AUDIOMOUTH that plays there, just not sure how often they are there but see them at Sherlocks and other clubs often. All in all, I would give this place a 4 if they would only knock down that glass area around the bar. The bar area is nice but the live music gets drowned out in there and cannot hear anything. Great location though. :) more

Best Little Bar in San Antonio 9/4/2010

I have been going to the Broadway 5050 for the past 2yrs. I am getting my Master's in Business Administration at UIW. I have the best time I go into the 5050. Everyone welcomes you, the beer is ice cold, and the burgers fantastic. The decor is what I would call eclectic. It provides warmth and an overall good feeling. Even the General Manager, I believe he goes by Diamond Dan, personally greets everyone while serving them their food and drink. I recommend the 5050 to everyone. Steven Seals more

Food stuffs are the good stuffs 11/13/2009

Came here on a whim, just saw it while we were driving by. The hamburgers are great, though strangely shaped. Don't get the shoestring potatoes unless you like really thin fries. Service was decent. more

The burgers aren't the only cheesy things here.‎ 11/4/2008

Growing up in the area, I remember the 50-50 as a classic neighborhood bar. Good for a drink after work and a fun joint later in the night. Unfortunately, the place has taken a turn for kitch in recent years. A Tarantino theme is shaky in concept, and the execution here is so poor it evokes constant douche-chills until the patron internalizes and accepts the dull stupidity of the decor. Putting up a few QT movie posters and filling in the rest with sock-hop dance decorations doesn't create and atmosphere; it just makes the customer feel puerile for even being there. Pros: Local history, location, alright burgers. Cons: Bad draft beer, poor service, and horibly cheesy decor. more

Terrible 9/25/2008

Although the atmosphere seemed good for a bar, the food and the service (as another posting states) totally sucked. The hamburger, there supposed specialty, was awful. Had to wait 10 minutes just to get condoments after the food was delivered, and the waitress acted irritated that we asked. They list drink specials but we were informed by our rude waitress that it was only for college students although none of their advertisments said so. We will never go back. Totally sucked! I am the General Manager of the Broadway 5050, the famous or infamous Diamond Dan. I took over the 5050 in late 2004 and have to say , if you have not been here in 2007 you are missing out on so much. 8/28/2007

We have 3 50 inch LG's hooked up directly to the Bose sound system. We have a huge big screen TV in front and two large screen TV's in the pool room. Live music on Friday and Saturday nights with absolutely no cover charge. NEVER A COVER! If you don't like the band you can leave with out losing a dime. We have been home to great upcoming bands such as Merge, Bliss, Scratch, Harry Wurzbach & The 410's, and Prototype Rocks. Our food has been rated number 5 in San Antonio by MSN( Hell, I thought we were a Bar and Grill). Our prices in food and liquor, beer, and wine are the lowest in Alamo Heights. I am getting the extended Sports Package with our friends at Time Warner, so that when it rains, we will still have a picture. Ever seen a Dish System last in a storm? Pint Nite on Tuesday totally rocks with the purchase of a 5050 mug and then get $1.50 domestic and $2.50 import draft beer every Tuesday nite from 7pm to 2am. Burgers and Beer 5/11/2006

I love the selection on beer and burgers. I'm originally from Houston and miss Beck's Prime. Broadway 50/50 offers a great blue cheese burger that my mouth is watering for now. When you want a great burger and beer.. there is a good selection on tap and bottle.. head here. This is always a stop when taking friends for a tour of the city. Hmmmm... more

Great Burger! 1/3/2006

Broadway 50/50 has really great hamburgers. I was a little caught off guard when the hamburger was placed in front of me, but only because it is shaped more like an oval rather than your typical round burger. I had a bacon cheeseburger. It was excellent. The meat was very tender, a little greasy but very tasty, the bacon was cut in thick slices and was very flavorful. The tots were also very good, crispy and piping hot. I really enjoyed the experience at Broadway 50/50. Pros: Great burgers, friendly waitstaff, Inexpensive Cons: Not for dieters more

The New and Improved Broadway 5050 7/10/2005

I have just recently seen a concert on July 8,2005 at 9:30 P.M at the Broadway 5050 and I was utterly impressed! The band that played was called Structure and they really rocked the house! Being in the restaurant business myself, it is easy for me to spot things that most people do not notice. The crowd was a pleasant mixture of late 20's and early 30yr olds. There was no cover charge and I found out that they never charge a cover. I am running out of room so I better end this; but try it for yourself, you will love it. Fourth Layer of Hell 10/11/2004

As a live music venue, the Broadway 5050 is an abomination; one that proves that a bar doesn't have to be on the Riverwalk to be tacky and utterly soulless. The trendier-than-thou crowd cant seem to be bothered by the bands playing, and would rather compare cell phone features or watch sports on TV than pay attention to the music. The sound system isnt very good, and they apparently dont have anyone working there who can adjust the PA. The featured house drinks on the menu are overpriced and silly, and the decor is an ill-advised blend of 1950s diner and Ikea. I think the story is that the Broadway 5050 was a decent place that flooded out and was closed for two years. What has emerged from that Alamo Heights deluge is a cesspool where a privileged, shallow clientele prattles on vapidly with its collective back to the band. Nothing wrong with the place. It's a fine neighborhood bar, but it should not be listed as a sports bar... unless you consider drinking a sport. Pros: Friendly staff, Alamo Heights area, Mixed crowd Cons: "Cliquey", Small Bathrooms more
