For the longest time, I resisted trying the Breakfast Klub. I don't know why, but I kind of had an idea that it was over-hyped and that the food wouldn't live up to the reputation. I think I thought that because many of the people recommending the BK to me were trendy hipsters who tend to judge Houston by how Austin-ish it is or isn't (i.e., Dry Creek and the Heights good, everything else bad). Anyway, my obvious personal issues aside, I was completely blown away by how delicious the food at BK was and how friendly the staff was. Though I am usually not a fan of sweet + savory, the wings and waffles truly were like some magical combination. I'm sure it had something to do with the spicy flavor of the wings and the fact that the syrup was sweet but not too sweet. Also, the fact that the wings had clearly just come from a molten hot deep fryer didn't hurt either. It's so rare that a restaurant with a cult following like this one still takes the time to make first time visitors feel welcome, but each person we met clearly went out of his or her way to help us learn the system, point us in the right direction on the menu, and make us feel generally glad to be there. I'll definitely brave the line and you should too.
Pros: Seriously, the most delicious wings anywhere
Cons: The line, but who cares? You're going to get wings at the end of it
