I've gone to the Black Sheep a few times for pastries and had no complaints, so I decided to use them for an office catering event. I ordered two party platters a week ahead of time. When I went to pick them up, the guy said he "couldn't find them anywhere." I asked him what that meant and he said that either they lost the order or the cooks forgot to make them. But don't worry, he said, he could make them for me righ tnow. Fair enough. Then he added, "I've actually never made these before, but I can look up the ingredients." Okayyyy. He made up my platters and gave me extra food for the inconvenience, as now the food was a half hour late for my party. The platters themselves were not very good. The marinated vegetables tasted like they were soaked in Italian salad dressing, the mozzarella tasted like unflavored tofu (in fact, some guests though it was tofu), the hummus was also flavorless.
A few days later, I went to pick up an order for coffee and tea service which I also ordered ahead of time. They gave me my canisters of coffee, decaf, and hot water for tea. When I got to my event, I saw that they hadn't given me any tea for this hot water. How annoying! I called to complain and am waiting for compensation, but I hope it's not a gift certificate because I will not be using their service again.
