Best

I was recently there for the first time since they moved to their new, larger location and I was amazed. The space is incredible, high ceilings, beautiful floors, tables, ambiance...

Worst

UGGH! Do I even have to give them one star? they don't deserve it. My sister-in-law booked her baby's christening party here and it was the worst restaurant experience I have ever...

BEST RESTARAUNT IN EXTON 6/19/2010

I have found the perfect place to meet friends, business associates and bring the family. As well as great take out service. I discovered this little treasure tucked in the corner of the Giant Food Store shopping mall, and have not eaten at another restaurant since! I can't say enough about the food, incredible. Fresh fish, vegetables, bread as well as homemade desserts (save room for) Can not think of a thing I would change. PERFECT, Thank you to Jillian and the staff. You guys are awesome! Pros: fabulous food, wonderful ambience more

Wanted it to be good 5/9/2010

I found this restaurant through a google search after I called a few other places that were booked for mother's day brunch. It had gotten so many good reviews i figured we would give it a try. Boy was a I wrong. First it took a very long time for everything. Even though the restaurant was full no one seemed to be in any sort of rush. Even with a reservation it took about 10 min to get seated. Then another 10 to get our order (not our drink order that was someone else). It took about 20 min from sitting down to get our drinks...one glass of water or coffee at a time. The only thing that happened quickly was someone dropping off a pastry plate for the table when we first sat down. This was actually very tasty. After about 45 min our waitress (there was only 1 waitress taking orders) came over and said our food would just bit a little longer. After almost an hour and half I walked over and spoke to the manager to find out what was taking so long. When getting up I noticed that the couple who sat down before us still had not been served either. The women said she apologized and said that all their food is cooked to order and made fresh and that they over booked and the kitchen couldnt handle the demand. We were about to get up and leave and the manager came over and informed us that our meal would be free and that we would be receiving gift cards for a future visit. We figured we would wait it out. After waiting for almost 2 and half hours we were hopping for a silver lining in that the food would be worth the wait...sadly it was not. Out of the 5 dishes only 2 were correct/good. My mother's scrambled eggs ordered well done were runny and had multiple egg shells. My brother ordered a shrimp dish in a bourbon cream sauce which came out not reduced and tasted like you were taking shots of alcohol. I order the creme brulee stuffed french toast and while it was very tasty it was more of an orange creme not a creme brulee. We went next door to a sub shop and got some sandwiches to take home because we were all still pretty hungry. And after talking with the cashier she said we are not the first people to complain. She hasn't heard a positive thing since they opened. And like I said in the title I wanted this restaurant to be good. The menu looked great unfortunately I just don't think the staff has what it takes to run a good restaurant. **Looking back over the reviews I think they were all written by friends or family or even by employees. more

Amazing food; fantastic people 4/22/2010

Had dinner a few weeks ago with a friend; neither one of us had been to the bistro before; what a fun experience! The menu looked amazing and we couldn't decide what to get so we got a few things and split them; mac-n-cheese, the monte cristo (oh my stars, the monte cristo! soooo good) and the califronia burger followed by the desert pizza. One of the best and most enjoyable meals I've ever eaten out; and I have eaten at some fantastic places. The desert pizza (drizzled with honey, ornage-infused ricotta, mandarin orange slices and dark chocolate...I could have licked the plate! This is the first time I have ever thought a restaraunt waranted a review; amazing, fun, wonderful people. I want to go back. Like yesterday. We will be back. soon. in the meantime...we are dreaming about that desert pizza...and the monte cristo...and the califronia burger...and the home fries...and the mac-n-cheese... Pros: great food, great fun people, really neat ambience Cons: none more

So amazing and fresh! 3/14/2010

i have gone here several while on vacation visiting family. everything was so amazing that we had. my favorite part is that while your waiting for your food you are presented with an amazing fresh fruit plate and a basket of fresh baked good's. the stuffed frence toast is amazing. no syrup needed. the coffee is perfect and the corned beef hash is soooooo yummy. all and all this is my new spot when i visit. and i will most likely make it my daily sunday brunch spot when i move into the area. cant say enough good things. and the waitstaff and cheff are amazing. so very polite. i love love love this place, as does my 3 yr old daughter <3 cant wait to try there dinner menu!! Pros: all fresh ingredients Cons: waitstaff could be a little more attentive more

Incredible Food, Wonderful People, and New Fav Spot! 3/5/2010

I never write these reviews but had a hard time resisting after finding this place. I was pleasantly surprised with a lunch date yesterday from 2 friends and it was at this new place called The Bistro in Our Town. I have to admit, I never had heard of it so couldn't really be excited...until I got there. First ...the people who work there seem just as excited about being there as customers do. And since I go out to eat alot, I have to say that is not the norm. It was so pleasant to see happy smiling faces. Second..The food is absolutely to die for. We couldn't decide what to order, so we all ordered something different and shared. I highly suggest this!! You get to taste so many things, and the portions---you WILL take food home!! My favorite was the Mac & Cheese, Chicken Cordon Bleu style---WOWOWOWOW!! The food is soo fresh, and it tastes vibrant. I felt like our table was the only ones there as the food was hot, amazing and they catered to us like we were gods of some sort. And it was busy so not sure how many others felt like this but it looked as everyone there was having an amazing time. We chatted with a few other dinners and couldn't believe no one is talking about this place---really go try it out! I will be back, probably today for dinner. Thank you to The Bistro, a restaurant who finally gets it!! We will be back, sooner then later, and with families and friends in tow! YUMMY! Pros: delicious unique recipes! more

Tuscan Table Rocks! 2/22/2010

What a treat to attend the Tuscan Table - a six course meal served family style with one delicious surprise after another, beautiful presentation and affordable prices. The owner and staff are amazing and make you feel like part of their family. I especially like that they bring the "community" together for one-stop shopping. Midway through the meal we took a breather and checked out information on display from local merchants. Great food, friends, conversation - I'll be back soon with friends for a girl's night out! Pros: Fabulous food and atmosphere. more

Chester County's newest hot spot 2/17/2010

After coming back from recent trip to Italy I was greatly surprised to find Italy in my own back yardThe bistro at Our Town is a unique dining experience. Pleasant staff and great food in a laid back atmosphere. I recently took home the Chicken Picatta and a side of kale. What a treat. For dessert I had the most unbelieveable chocolate mousse with a hint of orange. Words cannot do this justice. It is a must try. I was so impressed that we decided to have our family reunion here in the Spring. All we have to do is supply the wine.. Pros: ambience, service and so much more Cons: None so far more

Died and Gone to Europe! 2/3/2010

These people make kale taste like potato chips but without the guilt!! Most eclectic and tasty menu for miles. Every Friday night they do a Tuscan family style dinner. Make your reservations - I attended one with 13 courses for just $25. BYOB and friends and prepare to be amazed! All types of events and catering on and off site - best place for a party, to learn something new or try something different. They have you completely covered with all of their connections. I hear they're even looking into gourmet cupcakes!!! Pros: Over the top food at very reasonable prices! more
