Always lively, locally owned and operated, very good coffee. They do have live music in the evenings. They've recently expanded their menu to include breakfast and lunch items too.

Easy answer: The Bean Scene 11/18/2005

It is a standard fixture of downtown Sunnyvale, is locally owned and operated, and always serves up a good cup of coffee. Although the hours can be sporadic in the evenings, it is almost always lively. They do offer more than coffee, including live music from time to time. more

Good coffee, good atmosphere 9/8/2005

I've been to this coffee shop several times both as a customer and as a musician performing. The coffee and atmosphere are great at this little place. I highly recommend the white hot chocolate--it's a favorite for all of us in my band each time we perform. more

Not Starbucks = Good enough for me. 8/7/2005

Maybe I'm just sheltered but I really don't see a lot of coffee houses around here besides the Starbucks monopoly. So when I came across the Bean Scene when I had to come here for a belly dancing event I was pleasantly surprised. This is a pretty cool cafe. They do a lot of events here. Poetry reading, whatnot. I've only been here once for the belly dancing and it was a great experience. Besides, I much prefer their beverages than the generic Starbucks ones. more
