Best

The Beacham is the best place to go see a show in Orlando.Their club nights are awesome too. They really know how to throw a party.

Worst

TERRIBLE SERVICE! NEVER PAY FOR VIP!!!!!! UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE STAFF! Never pay for VIP! I spent $600 for my 21st birthday and the night was a disaster. The whole operation was...

Outstanding Sound System 5/6/2011

I recently attended Ghostland Observatory and Rusko. the sound system was awesome ! Its been quite a while since orlando has had a venue with sound thats big, clear and booming. !!! more

The best club in o-town 5/6/2011

This club was AMAZING!!! I loved loved loved the drinks they were very stronge and good, the music was hott, there is a bar every time you turn around, so no long lines, will go back!!! more

Best concert venue in town! 5/5/2011

This place is awesome. I went there for a concert a couple of weeks ago and I had a great time. The sound was definately on point and there are like a million bars to go to which meant no waiting forever to get a drink. Totally my new spot. more

Amazing sound system 5/3/2011

I love love love the new Beacham! I was there for Glove and Special Sauce. The sound system was so powerful. Love live music venues. The bartenders were on their game too, I definitely got my buzz on!! I highly reccommend you check out a show there!! more

Upgrade! 5/1/2011

I went there for the JJ Grey concert and really enjoyed the entire experience. The place is perfect for a concert and it's downtown instead of all the way near disney. They have been making some great changes to this place and its definitely working! more

LoVE It!! 4/29/2011

i went on a saturday (club night) it was awesome, great people , awesome bartenders and servers super friendly and they had the best drink specials in downtown . i would definately come again .. the music was great plus videos too go with the music havent seen that in any other club... i recommended to anyone ! :) more

Great new place 4/29/2011

They've clearly invested money in their sound system, sound quality was amazing. I went for Avici and Dieselboy and loved it. I will definitely be attending more shows at the Beacham. Drinks were good and at a decent price too. more

Great place to see a live show! 4/29/2011

Went to Ghostland Observatory show last night and loved it! The sound and light show was amazing. It looks like they've done a nice ""face lift"" to the place...new paint,etc... I definitely look forward to seeing more shows here. more

I like the new beacham so far 3/17/2011

I already reviewed this place on another site, but i feel compelled to be the 1st to review it on here lol.. so here it goes: i went for the g.love concert and fun. they had a couple of kinks to work out at their door but all in all i had fun! the first thing i noticed was how BIG the stage is now.. i went when it was Tabu and girls could dance on the stage..and back then it smaller and had rails or something.. but now i say whatever beacham is doin ..keep doin it, because everytime i come back the club looks better and better! more

one of the more decent Orlando music venues 12/16/2010

This place is a pretty decent smaller venue. I have seen a lot of good bands there over the years (and some shitty ones too). The staff is decent. They are just dudes trying to do their job, but they don't treat you like dirt and they aren't on some power trip (looking at YOU, Firestone and HOB). The stage is good size and the sound is usually good. My only real problem is the smoking. Most shows here are NOT no-smoking, but even at the ones that are nobody enforces the no-smoking rule and often the shows turn into Lung Cancer Central :( more

Best Place to see a show in Orlando 5/19/2010

Hands down the best sound system and best place to see a band in Orlando. Unless you're 5'4" (and I'm not) you get a great and intimate view and feel during each performance. A++ Pros: great sound more

Super Social 5/18/2010

New York: CBGB's, LA: Viper Room, Orlando: THE SOCIAL! Few places offer such a personal and intimate experience for live shows. The vibe seems to bleed out of the walls from thousands of shows over the years. This is a great place to catch your favorite bands as well as talented "up & comers". Friendly staff, clean restrooms, and great drinks! Wether passing though or an Orlando native, The Social is a DEFINITE on the list of places to be... Pros: Drinks & Shows Galore Cons: Trying to get up for work the next morning! more

best live music venue in Orlando 5/7/2010

after living in Orlando since 2007, I've been to literally hundreds of shows and am convinced that the Social is the most intimate venue with the best sound around. Pros: the talent! more

Far from the worst, it's also worlds away from being the best 2/14/2008

The Social is arguably the most established live music club in the Orlando area, and has justifiably built a good reputation for bringing in upcoming national acts as well as showcasing the best in local talent. The club has some good and bad points. The good is a decent (not great) PA, a decent sized stage for a club, and mostly good sight lines. The bad is a woefully inadequate lighting system, small and dirty restrooms, at times surly staff, and an unbearably inadequate air filtration system that allows the cigarette smoke to become chokingly thick. On slower week nights, free onstreet parking is generally available within a few blocks, although crime has become serious enough that those can be a few very long blocks when leaving. Pay parking is available at a couple of lots within a block or two. The bands that play there are a mix of everything from blues to metal, with regular leanings towards an alternative rock sound. Most are upcoming acts, a few are has beens on their way back down from the top. Overall it's an OK rock club, nothing special and far from world-class. It lacks the unique atmosphere of Flint's "Machine Shop," the notoriety of LA's "Viper Room," or the high end production of NJ's "Starland Ballroom." It's best redeeming quality is that it is a live music venue in a city which has lost more of the same than it's gained in recent years. more

age limit? 1/6/2008

My favorite bands play there but you have to be 18 or older to attend. It's not fair to all of my friends and i who want to attend concerts but can't because an age limit at the venue. house of blues has no age limit and it still serves alcohol, so i dont see why they cant let a younger audience attend. Cons: age limit more

Great concert atmosphere 11/23/2006

Cool bar, surprisingly spacious due to high ceailings, and I like the pit/dance floor. The music is usually alternative/indie and they have some great bands that play. Great for after-work or just hanging out all night listening to some sweet tunes. Pros: inexpensive, good music, good atmosphere Cons: no dancing more

The Social George Clinton and the Brown Note 1/22/2006

I loved the opening act for George Clinton the last time he was in town and I wish that The Brown Note were opening for them this time. Pros: The Brown Note more

Excellent for the "Un-commercial" 1/20/2003

The Social is a great little lounge downtown. They always have great, unknown talent performing there. If your'e looking for great underground hip hop acts, rock bands, or whatever, then The Social is the place to be. Pros: Cheap, Good drinks, Great performers more

The New Scene 7/25/2002

The Social, or sapphire as the local still call it, is a great live music venue. On the other hand, their drink prices are rather higher than other average bars. The service is average, being a regular there does have its advantages though. The new look is nice but they took away alot of the spare moving room in the back, leave you not much choice to just go outside. Of course you could always just go next door to Bar-BQ-Bar for the cheap drinks! more

Editorial
  • The Scene
Though this club can sometimes turn into a sweaty, claustrophobic mess, it's one of the most intimate and unique rooms to see great bands play. As long as the sound crew takes its time setting up, expect to hear a mix that has detail and depth. The tasteful, continually updated interior adds to the chic, yet unpretentious, atmosphere. Thirsty patrons head to the bar and order tasty martinis from the separate martini menu, which has some unexpected combinations.

    The Draw
This spot may have changed names a few times, but it remains Orlando's top spot for nationally touring acts with underground sounds. Depending on the night, expect to see indie-rock kids, local rock stars/DJs and middle-aged folks looking for a good martini.
