The Barking Lot

I love the barking lot! I have been bringing my cocker spaniels there for grooming and boarding for 4 years. The staff is so friendly and always makes me feel so comfortable about leaving my dogs with them. They are very knowledgable & trustworthy and I will never take my pups anywhere else! more

I absolutely love The Barking Lot. I have been coming to The Barking Lot for five years now and wonder why I ever took my dogs anywhere else, oh yeah it was because I didn't know about The Barking Lot. They are by Stella's Blue Sky Dinner in Urbandale. I love my dogs and I wouldn't want anything but the best for them and that is what I get at The Barking Lot. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and skilled. My two Yorkies get their haircut there and they look beautiful and smell delicious every time they come home. I also use their boarding facility, it is the cleanest and most inviting kennel I have ever seen. They get walked four times a day and The Barking Lot supplies everything they need. I tell my friends all the time about how much I love this place and all of them have started bringing their pets here too! I WOULD recommend this place to my worst enemy. You can' t get better care anywhere else! more

I don't know about you, but my dogs are like my children. I love them so much and I only want the best for them. That is why I LOVE The Barking Lot! The staff at The Barking Lot are so great with my dogs and are very accomidating to me. I board my dogs there and get them groomed there. Their prices are affordable and their services are great. Billy and Tilly, my yorkies, just love going to The Barking Lot. I would recommend this place to everyone, and I do! more

This place seemed really nice when I dropped off my dog, I felt my precious little girl was in good hands.While I was dropping her off and explaining what I wanted done for her hair cut, I asked if they plucked ear hair, & cleaned the ears, she said, Yes, that?s included in the groom.When I picked her up, everything seemed great, I didn?t check her ears, I thought my saying something would make it a priority. I get her home, & checked her ears, low and behold, not cleaned or plucked.Then upon further inspection, she has a chuck missing from her face.I call the place, tell them what is going on, & she was like well you can bring her back in so we can fix her ears, & there was a mat in her face where the chuck is missing, it was hurting her brushing it out. I comb my dog at least every other day, & I know that there was not a mat large enough to make her face that uneven (if there even was one), & they didn?t tell me when I picked her up. The owner really didn?t seem to care that I was upset, and only said to bring and they would fix it one time. Very poor customer service, clearly they have no idea what they are doing, and very overpriced ($41 for a yorkie). DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG THERE Pros: nothing Cons: inexperienced, overpriced more

The first time I went in (and the first time I was having my puppy groomed I should add), the place was just that...a barking lot. Dogs were barking like mad and I didn't really know what to expect. Initially, I hated the place and vowed never to go back. Now that I've been to some other places in town it isn't so bad. They seem to be a pretty organized shop and I'm not sure if it's the groom or the bath, but my dog doesn't get as many eye goobers or stains after she's been there. more

Groomingdale's grooms both dogs and cats. They do an excellent job. They treat the animals very well and the place is very neat and clean. You can also purchase toys and some apparel there. more
