The Almond Tree Manor

The Christmas Buffet food has always been the best of best, and highest of quality food as usual. All the desserts are freshly made. All vegetables are fresh out of my garden during permitting months and fresh otherwise. The chocolate fountain is a very popular item during the holiday buffets, and serve close to guests each holiday without hardly any problems, however, it is sometimes hard to keep clean. Overall condition/appearance was ok, but overall food was terribly disappointing. Ham, beef, chicken w/ almonds, were nothing special - actually I found the beet and chicken to both be a bit dry. Vegetable medley - had CANNED peas, fresh carrots that were undercooked and a bland taste. Lasagna (I guess that is what it was) was soggy. The cold salads were good, sesame dressing was very good, bread was hard, butter warm (left out to long), soup was nothing special (again with undercook carrots). Desserts were ok, but mostly dry cheesecake tasted like it came from a box mix, chocolate fountain display was very messy, spilled chocolate everywhere and the bananas (in the skin) were BROWN. Very unattractive. Overall the food was ok, but nothing that I'd brag about. Perhaps their dinner menus are better, I wouldn't know, but I can say I will never go for their ""holiday"" buffets again. . more
