Than Brothers Restaurants

My family always try to find the best Pho place so one evening last month my son took me and my daughters to Than Brothers. First off, we were not impressed because the place looked untidy with untidy servers. Secondly, there was hardly any of the meat/prawn topping that we ordered. Third, not tasty or delicious but we were starving. However, the disgusting part just came when my daughter, at the end of her meal, found a DEAD FLY at the bottom of her bowl. When we confirmed it was a DEAD FLY, we all wanted to throw up knowing that all the restaurant soup is boiled in one big pot(so basically, all of the other customers partook in that same fly based soup!!!) Here's even worse: when the lady owner was informed by the waiter, she did not bother get off her bum to check. She sat there behind the counter saying the fly must have dropped in my daughter's bowl. She said it must have also come from the sauces! She sounded like it was our fault for not watching! Like insects are expected but its customer's responsibilty to be alert. She seemed irritated that we even interrupted her(she was busy then counting her cash, LOL) And she did not apologize! In the end I went up to her to pay, she just stared, did not address the issue, did not apologize, just hastily took my cash then carried on counting her cash stash. She did not take off charges for the fly soup. If she has an uncaring attitude, imagine what can be happening back in the kitchen? How dirty and unsanitary! I saw that she was mean and rude to her staff too, so just guess what the waiters and cook are doing to get back at her and us, customers. GROSS. Will never ever go back. DISGUSTING FOOD, EVEN MORE DISGUSTING OWNER. I did not argue or make a scene as I'm not that type of person. But you customers out there are reading this and that to me is adequate. more

I will never come back to this place ever again. The owner is very mean adn rude to the customer. The food is nasty and I don't recommand any of my friend and family or any one reading this review. more

This is a great pho place if you are a pho lover, if you are not then it is not the vietnamese restuarant for you as they only serve pho (and cream puffs, free with meal). Strangely cream puffs often come before the pho, but it can be a nice appetizer if you are starving in the 5 minutes it takes them to bring you your pho. Variety of types of pho, including vegetarian, comes with the usual pho supplies. Can be crowded and not the best place to meet a friend who is often late as you can end up feeling pressured to get your pho and start eating. I used to eat here all the time until one of my co-workers brought me back some pho. i started to unfold the whole thing to warm up in the microwave. When I got to the noodles, OMG beware...there was a HUGE about 10 inches of long hair stuck in my noodles. And if you eat pho, you know that the noodles are already stuck together and only this time with hair. Black hair. I threw it all away. It was gross. I threw the whole thing away. When i went there to next time, they said i should have brought it back. No apologizes or anything. Still, i gave them a second chance. I again went there yesterday. Took my 19 year old and her GF. Sitting there, only customers mind you at this time, the GF says to look at the girls that work there. I turn my head and they are doing something that looks like monkeys picking fleas out of each others hair. One girl was thoroughly picking through the cashiers hair, looking for something...for a long time. When I asked the skinny waiter to pls come and see us..he hesitated but came. We asked him to please ask the ladies to stop that and that we have lost our appetite watching that. He looked at us bewildered and said ""it no bother you!"" I thought WOW...would i complain if it didn't bother me? Anyway, we again said that it bothers us. He looked at us like we where dumb. He then pulled the girls aside and told them that we where complaining. The girls looked at us and laughed. How rude....we then nicely apologized and said that it bothered us..they kept saying it wasn't bothering anyone. I told them we can no longer eat our food. We then decided to just stop eating. We got up, paid for the food that we did not eat. No apologizes or anything. Did not say, don't worry about paying for the food. Didn't give a shit what we said. We left dumb founded. THE RUDEST people on earth, PICKING HAIR in restaurant, NOT WASHING HANDS and No customer service skills. I have been coming here on and off for several years. It's good Pho and really helps you feel better when you have a cold. BUT... I have decided never to go back. The owner is just too rude. He brought my daughtrer the wrong order, and when I asked for the right one, he looked at me like he wanted to hurt me. It really ruined the meal for me. I also wonder if he pays any taxes with his ""cash only"" operation. I have been to other Vietnamese restaurants, and none of them have been as rude as this guy. You're better off going to Lemon Grass restaurant on S. Jackson downtown. The food is awesome, with a full menu. They are really busy though, so expect to wait a while for your food. Not Vietnamese either, although one person in our party was. I thought it was great food at a great price. Pros: great pho at economy prices Cons: wait staff not super friendly, but service is good. more

I noticed that two reviews were very harsh on the restaurant. I eat here all of the time and I am not vietnamese. I come here for the pho and I stay for the pho. This place has a harder time with being friendly, but if you want the best bowl of this soup, than you have come to the right place. It is soooo cheap and taste fresh, comes out very fast, and it is very sanitary. Just be very polite and when they direct your attention to something, just do it! I say if taste matters to you than this is the place to eat! Pros: Very cheap, fast, oh my word DELICIOUS! Cons: Slightly grumpy, but they are not terrible just give them respect. more

Almost every worker at this restaurant are grumpy - none of them speak good english. No one in this restaurant knows how to smile. If you want bad service, this is the place to go. more

This restaurant has got to have the worst service I have ever had in my life! We went to Thanh Brothers in Lynnwood on Fathers Day - when we arrived, we asked to be seated by the fish tank becuase my son wanted to sit by the fish...we were immediately rejected and told to sit elsewhere...even though the restaurant was nearly empty! Then my son opened two packages of chopsticks - when a worker saw him - he reached over onto our table and REMOVED THE UTENCIL HOLDER even before my husband and I got our spoons! RUDE! For one, those chopsticks cost 1 cent each and it costs 3 cents to make pho! So I approached the counter and asked to pay. The lady was nice, but to owner approached and asked what was wrong and I said i thought it was rude that they took the utencil holder away over two chopsticks - and you know what he said - THOSE CHOPSTICKS ARE NOT RECYCLABLE, WE THROW AWAY AND HE ALREADY OPEN MANY! OMG - are you seriously having a cow over two chopsticks! Cons: NOT KID FRIENDLY, SERVICE IS HORRIBLE! RESTAURANT IS DIRTY! more

It's good pho and you get a creampuff with it! Than Brothers is a good chain with a number of locations. I usually go to the Redmond one in the downtown Redmond area or the one on Aurora and about 70th. XL bowl is really a mouthful! Fresh tasting, fresher than a number of other Vietnamese places around town for pho, but they're pretty much just pho here. Pros: Fast service, fast food delivery, excellent food Cons: If you don't want Pho, you're outta luck. more
