Worse Food Experience of My Life 6/24/2008

I have gone to this restaurant many many times in the past and always LOVED the food and the service. But NOT, last night. Got there about 6:30 and only one other table was taken. Waitress/I think owner, sat my husband, daughter and self promptly. When taking the beverage order I asked for a carafe of wine. Was told ""I dont serve carafe's, only glass or bottle"". Ok fine, (had ordered before in past). Wanted to take our food order also, but I asked for time to look over menu. When she came back with drinks, daugher ordered soup with tofu, and another dish, mee krob. Husband ordered crispy duck and I asked if I could order a dish that was not on menu but I had ordered many times before here. The waitress/owner said, ""no we dont fix that here"". I then asked her how long had she owned restaurant as I had ordered it iN the past. She then started yelling at me. NO NO YOU DID NOT ORDER IT HERE, YOU ORDERED IT SOMEWHERE ELSE. She actually stood there and YELLED at me about it. So I ordered the crispy soft shell crabs. The soup came out and there was no tofu in it. Duck came out and hubby said it was fine. Soft shell crab came out and was absolutely AWFUL. It had been put into a heavy batter before frying. The sauce covering was good, but the actual crab tasted old and very fishy. I could not eat it at all. She came over and asked if everthing was okay? I told her the crab just wasnt what I was used to and did not like the taste. She then ask me if I wanted a to go box for it. I really wanted to ask? Would it taste fresh if I took it home with me? I can assure everyone reading this, I will NEVER go to this location again. I will drive the few extra miles to get a decent meal and service. I dont need a waitress schooling me on what I know I have eaten. By the way, the Mee Krob was awful as well. Supposed to have chicken/shrimp. Was fried noodles tossed with a few pieces of something. A real rip off of $5.95. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL PLACE. Pros: Location Cons: Owner or staff, food quality and price more

Best Thai restaurant in the region (not including the other Thai Taste in Dilworth) 5/31/2007

Where do I start? The ambiance is great. The restaurant is absolutely spotless every time I go there. The staff are very attentive and friendly. The food is absolutely amazing. The curry dishes are out of this world! I recommend ordering C-3 on the dinner menu or the lunch menu. It is a red curry with cocunut milk, pineapples, rice, and your choice of meat. All of the meals are delicious, so you can't go wrong with whatever you order. Don't forget to order dessert. The cocunut pudding is phenomenal and the sticky rice with mango is a real treat. I give Thai Taste five stars. It is an all around great culinary experience. Of course, don't take my word for it. Try it for yourself! Pros: Ambience, Service, Food, everything!!! more

Great Thai food 3/18/2007

It's located a stone's throw from the town hall/library. It's pleasantly decorated - large paintings, engraved wood carvings. The waitstaff was very eager and attentive, and even though she had a 14 person party to attend to in the same room, we still got prompt service. We got the lettuce wraps for an appetizer - sauteed meat that you wrap in lettuce leaves to eat. I used to eat something like that growing up, so I enjoyed that very much. I like noodles, so I got the pad thai - very good. Unlike some other places, who make it too sugary, it was not cloyingly sweet - I don't think it was really sweet at all - and it was not too salty. The portions were good - I left full, but not stuffed. My tablemate had the ginger shrimp and mixed vegetables - also very good, not any particular spice too overpowering. A great place to eat. Pros: Good food, good service, nice ambience more
