Good food, rude staff 1/21/2012

The food at Thai Spice is good, not great. We were waiting to be seated for 5 minutes and they would not honor the lunch special informing us that it was over (by 5 minutes which we spent waiting at the front door). My daughter ran out of water, hadn't had a refill for over 10 minutes and decided to take a sip of tea from my glass. The waitress hurried over and told us that if she drank out of my glass again then she would need to charge us for another tea!!!!! There are other places with better food and much better service!!!!!!! more

Thai Spice's History 7/6/2009

I have been eating a Thai Spice since i was 9 years old but then it was not Thai Spice or that location. I was on Aviation Blvd. in Universal City for a long time and the alias was ""Scotty's Pub"" Scotty opened Thai Spice to get more customers since on good ole' aviation blvd. isn't really in San Antonio. I will always choose Thai Spice before any other restaurant because out of 12 years the food has not changed one bit!!! I love the rockin' Thai Spice!!!! Pros: Been around for 15yrs but under a other name!!! more

Great food for an affordable price 10/3/2008

This place is awesome! I was never a big fan of Thai food until my husband found this place. Now we go 2 or 3 times a week. Food is very flavorful and Spicy! A must try for all those who do not like Thai food this place will change your taste buds! One of my favorite restaurants in SA! I give it FIVE stars for FANTASTIC food! Pros: Its outsid ethe SA city limits Cons: Food is worth the drive more

Best Thai I've Found 9/12/2008

Without a doubt, the best Thai food I've found in the San Antonio area. The wait staff are friendly & efficient, the service is fast and it's inexpensive. Pleasant atmoshphere as well. I go as often as I can. Pros: GREAT food, service, atmosphere, value. One time I went too eraly (thought they were open but they hadn't opened yet). They saw me at the door, unlocked it and asked me to come in anyway! more

Wonderful food, very friendly service. 4/16/2008

The pad thai is wonderful. The lunch specials are awesome, as a previous reviewer stated. I have never had a less than very pleasant server, the tableware is not plastic, not sure what that reviewer was talking about. I have sadly never had room for dessert, but the fresh spring rolls and all the entrees are so good it is hard to hold back. It gets real busy at lunch but I've never had to wait. It isn't exactly cozy, but it's not too loud. Pros: Great food, wonderful service. Cons: Not the best atmosphere, but not too bad. more

Great variety and inexpensive dining. 4/13/2007

The first review entered by Maxim36 couldn't be correct. They must have the restaurants mixed up. We've been going to Thai Spice ever since the restaurant opend. The service has always been good, the food is great, with a nice variety and different flavors of each dish with an affordable price. We'll keep on going back. Pros: Not romantic Cons: Clean, good food, good value more

Rude, Bland & Cheap plastic plates 8/12/2006

We ordered off of the diner menu, the food was medium sized portioned. While the dishes were spicy, they were shy on flavor. Clean dining area with cloth napkins and table cloths, however they use plastic dinnerware and limit your drink refill to one (nothing says cheap quite like that). The worst part of the experience was when one of the cooks prepared a dish at another table and smoked the entire dining area up, we had to leave, it felt like we were in a bar. With so many choices in San Antonio we won't go back. Pros: Green decor is a nice change from the typical red asian. Cons: Rude staff, horrible smoke and smell. more

The Best Asian Food in SA 12/1/2005

Being from New York City, finding a good place to eat is very hard when compared to the vast variety of Asian restaurants. Now living in SA, my wife and I have searched for a dish that would take us back. We have found it. Combo Fried Rice @ Thai Spice in the Forum. Since then we eat there 2 to 3 time a week. See you there. Pros: staff is all smiles, Inexpensive, Big Plates Cons: Parking, Single user restroom more

Tasty 12/9/2003

I am no expert on Thai food, but I have eaten here several times and thought it to be quite tasty. Fresh Spring Rolls were delicious to start with. Lunch menu has a good variety and cost $5.95. Dinner Menu is huge and ranged from $7.95-$10. People are friendly. Clean and its in the Forum. more
