Thai Pepper Cuisine

We had gone there a party of 8 and they told us 30 minutes wait time. So we decide to split up instead and just sit at *2 different tables*. We order the soup and the curries and all goes well till at the end of our dinner, my wife spots a piece of plastic in the curry!!! It was crumpled up thin plastic the size of a quarter!!! that was NOT ACCEPTABLE! \r \r Now THIS is the worst part (yea, believe it or not, what you read so far wasn't) After the manager spent 5 minutes justifying us giving the 18% gratuity, one of our buddy got upset and he raised his voice and demanded that we see his boss. At that point, they removed the gratuity but took BACK the curry they had reserved us (the one that had plastic in it, remember?!?). When we were outside bidding goodbyes, the 'boss' finally came out in the parking lot and said we should have tipped the manager MORE for his efforts as good will...that was RIDICULOUS! Our buddy who had yelled at that manager gave additional $5 bill to the boss as tip and asked him to leave us alone. Get this now...the boss TAKES the $5 bill and then tells us "" i have seen all your faces...I would like you to NOT come in my hotel again...you STUPID...you LOW"" (end quotes) Pros: transparent service - with plastic in the food Cons: force 18% gratuity as if its their right! more

Despite reading the previous reviews we decided to give this place a try. It had many different entrees from other Thai restaurants that we've been to. The restaurant has an interesting layout and was beautifully decorated. Even though it was relatively full, we were seated promptly, and we still felt as though we were in an intimate setting. My friend brought me there and my first experience was great. I asked for hot and got hot! Going back after that has been consistently disappointing. I've asked for Thai hot and got medium. Their resolution is to add hot sauce, which is not the same flavor. \r \r I put up with mix ups, but my last straw was getting pad thai where the chicken was not slightly sour, but it had the spoiled stench and taste, which I hope most of you have not had the misfortune of having tasted. It smelled like the chicken that was left in the fridge after a 3 week vacation. The first taste is of pad thai followed by a strong bite. I told them and she looked at me and asked me what she wanted her to do about it. At the very least she could have told the cook to dispose of the batch of chicken, ask me how I felt, something. \r \r After a few minutes, I felt very ill and had to request they take the item of the bill. They start arguing among themselves and tried to fake they were concerned about my health. Concern was not understood from the waitress asking what she wanted me to do about it.\r \r We lost our reason to give them another chance. more

The service is just average, the food is great! Get the Tom Kha Soup! They don't serve it in the fancy flame heated dishes as some do, but the soup is great! Have been there twice, and will go back. Don't expect super service, but don't expect bad service either. Pros: food more

The food was very tasty and reasonably priced. It's in what appears to be a former coffeeshop in a quiet strip mall, so there's usually no wait at all, and the decor is... unusual for a thai restaurant. The waitstaff were neither particularly courteous nor rude. Pros: good food, reasonable prices more

On saturday evening, 9:45PM,we were rushed to the table by the rude hostess. When we started to give our order, she rudely asks us to order in 2 minutes. Just started to eat, she was standing on our table with mints and bill. She is back in minute to collect the check. I placed my credit card on her plate. She takes it, and is back with the bill for me to sign. And all this has happened even before we have finished out appetizer. I stopped eating. Signed the receipt, and tried to tell her that she is ruining our dinner. Instead of feeling apologetic, she argued with us, made a face and very loudly started talking to two other waiters in her own language. The hostess ruined the entire dinner for which we were billed $59.40. What we experienced here is unheard and is against basic customer rights. more

During Lunch, Thai Pepper was understaffed and the service was terrible. A waitress was handing out some of the vegeterian soups. When she was left with one in her hand she just handed it to me. I did'nt even ask for the vegeterian one. My partner was served with a meat soup a whole 10 minutes later. I tried their lunch special of spicy chicken with salad. The salad was just a bunch of lettuce without any sauce. The spicy chicken dish was decent and I tried some of the Pad thai which was quite average. When my partner asked for some nuts, the waitress forgot about it. Then she realized her folly after the meal was over. If you want good thai food for lunch in the area, head down the street of sunnyvale-saratoga to sunnyvale downtown. There are a variety of thai resteraunts there that are much better.
