I was confused that we were getting pho at a place with ""Thai"" in its name, but the menu was a mix of Chinese and Vietnamese cuisine...good enough for me. I didn't bother with anything else and went straight to the pho section to peruse my options. I settled on the brisket, tendon, and tripe. To wash it down, I went with a Thai iced tea (this place has some identity issues).
The pho came in a huge bowl and was served with all the usual condiments: basil, bean sprouts, jalapenos, and a slice of lemon; I added a good portion of each and squeezed some lemon juice and a little Sriracha hot sauce over the top. Delicious!
The broth was nice and full - a spicy, meaty taste that complemented the noodles and proteins. As much as I wanted to start drinking straight from the bowl, my mother taught me too well and I resorted to using a spoon for sipping purposes.
For a spontaneous lunch at a hole-in-the-wall place, I was more than happy with how it turned out. The bill came out to $24.50 for three people...not too shabby. I'll be back for sure next time it's cold and rainy outside. -Phil
