Love the Rangers and the Ballpark 5/18/2009

I love the Rangers and the Ballpark in Arlington. I do still wish it was the Ballpark in downtown Dallas but you take what you can get. The stadium is and always has been beautiful and it is nice that at least so far this season, the product on the field is keeping pace. more

Take me out to the ballgame... 10/5/2006

While we were on a recent trip to Dallas, Texas, we decided to take in a Texas Rangers baseball game at the stadium in Arlington. The stadium is between the large cities of Dallas and Fort Worth. The stadium itself was very pretty. I have only ever seen professional baseball played in an indoor stadium, so it was a neat experience to see a game in an outdoor ball park. At the street entrance to the center field portion of the stadium is a “kids fun park” with a variety of games for kids. One is a kid’s home run game that is played from time to time over the big screens during the game. We received some great service – even a partial “behind the scenes” view of the ball park from one of the ushers at the park. He was very nice and helpful and pointed out what a great deal we received on our tickets (we purchased them from someone in the parking lot). My favorite thing was an old woman in our section who had a drum that she would beat (very loudly) every time the Rangers made a good play. All the workers (beer guys, ushers, etc) stopped by to say hello to her – so you could tell she was a regular. It is great to see such a fan! If you are ever in the Arlington area during baseball season, I recommend you at least go take a look at the AmeriQuest field. more

A Night at the Ballpark 8/21/2005

The Texas Rangers play in arguably the most under-rated ballpark in the majors, Ameriquest Field. Sure, because it's an open air stadium, you'll cook if you're sitting in the left-field bleachers (especially during day games). But view of the field looks good even in the upper deck. Plus, Chuck Morgan does an excellent job on the in-game entertainment aspect. Unfortunately, Tom Hicks hasn't committed enough money to improve the on-field product. But if it's wholesome family fun that you're looking for on the Dallas/Fort Worth sports scene, a Rangers game will fit the bill. more
