Horrible Company 7/30/2007

When I called to set-up new service today, all I got was the run-around. It will take two days to set-up new service and then I have to wait around all day. If this is my first experience, I can't wait to see how bad it gets! more

This company's automated phone service is ALWAYS broken. It's frustrating enough to have to wait through a bunch of options while a computer talks to you, but when you have to call back 5 times just to pay a bill without getting cut off, it's ridiculous. Their recording just skips around like a scratched CD and then hangs up randomly. When I finally get someone on the phone, they instantly hang up on me! You have no choice but to use the automated touch-tone phone directory. The company does not have on-line bill pay as an option, NO WEB SITE, and they close at 5:00. I have had several incidents when gas was leaking in my house and have had to figure out (that there was in fact a leak, where it was coming from, and how to stop it) myself! I'm probably qualified to work for them by now! more

Horrible customer service 4/7/2007

I would not recommend this company at all. When I thought I had a gas leak in my apartment, the customer service rep I talked to was rude and didn't listen to anything I had to say. more

Put me on hold for 45 minutes just to inform me that because the previous tenant of the house had an oustanding balance I would have to fax them everything but my first born child in order to set up service. Repeatly asked for the same information I had already given them, then insisted that I use my social security number to set up the account after I had previously been told that I could use my Driver's License number. I would almost prefer to never use the stove than have to deal with the inadequate phone reps. Unfortunately they have a contract with the city so there's not much to be done. more

If I had a choice, I would have dropped Texas Gas Service a long time ago. Their phone support and their website used to be fabulous. I had even called in to congratulate them on it. Unfortunately, many good things go to the wind, and more

Watch out for these guys 1/6/2006

I came home from the holidays after being gone for over a week visiting relatives in Houston. I heard a voice mail from Texas Gas saying my payment was late (due originally on the 10th of December). I logged onto my internet banking and paid the bill the very next day. On Thursday the 5th I come home from work to find my gas was shut off. 6:00pm . Remember NO mailed notice or anything. Just the voice mail. They procede to tell me they cant turn it back on until Monday. After raising a huge stink they finally gave in agreed to do it on Friday (the next day). They told me someone would have to be home to let the person in. I agreed. We had someone at home all day. It is now 6:30 and nobody has come by. Dont listen to a word they say. more

these guys are hard to work with, far away from here, and they can't even keep a website up. How did they get the contract for gas service in this city???? Come to think of it, I probably don't want to know. more
