Editorial review from Citysearch 8/11/2013

This is Frank Young. I am the Son of the Late Terry Young SR and the Brother of Terry Young II along with my brother we operate this facility and it says reported Closed. I don't know why that is. We are open daily and located in the same spot my dad started up at in 1963. So whoever reported closed was wrong. WE ARE OPEN! more

Honest and thorough 1/27/2012

I've been a customer for years!! Terry and his staff are polite and explain what needs to be done. Their work is excellent and my car runs great. As a female customer I've never felt talked down to or taken advantage of. I like to support local businesses and this is one of the best! I've referred many people who were looking for a good, fair repair shop and they too have been happy. more

These guys know their job 1/11/2012

When a business is in its second generation and has lasted for 48 years it happens because they know what they're doing and their prices are fair. These men run the extra mile and take care of all problems. I have several cars and have had extensive work done many of times. Recently an old beast in my fleet of vehicles was in need of inspection and the price was going to be considerable. Terry recommended not fixing it. He gave me some options though saying if I was dead set on having this go through the inspection his staff would do the repairs but the car doesn't really justify it. I had to appreciate his honesty since it would have been easy to just take my money and not care if the old car lasts or not. Thanks Terry. I'll decide this week if we can replace the old Buick. If not I'll have you guys fix it up for us. more

WARNING TO ALL WOMEN 12/23/2011

I Never write a review for anything but I feel I am justified. Took my car in for an OIL CHANGE AND TIRE ROTATION IT WAS $60.00. I have owned cars since I was 16 I am in my 40""s . When I questioned the bill Terry the owner said he has been charging that much for 10 years wHAT A JOKE!!!!! I have never felt so ripped OFF OR HAVE PAID SO MUCH . I thought I would help a local business - boy did he see me coming. I have always gone to firestone on Mckinley its about $18.00 for a oil change and $10.00 for a tire rotation-IF YOU WANT TO PAY OVERPRICED FEES GO TO TERRYS... OR TO more

Fair and Honest 11/27/2010

This guy you can trust but PAY ATTENTION. When Terry says something is going to be expensive he is thinking not only of the the cost of the repair but the cost relative to the cost of the vehicle. His follow through is sometimes lacking but the repair work is always solid and the pricing is very competitive. I recently needed tires for my daughter's car but Terry couldn't get them for a competitive price. He quoted me for mounting instead and I found them online, had them delivered to Terry and it was win-win for both parties. more

Reliable, Honest 4/29/2010

We've had both our cars in (one newer, one older) to Terry and his prices have been consistent, often are the lowest in the area, but not always. But he is honest about what needs to be done, approaches things in a logistical manner (do now, can be done later), which is worth it to us. Even when he is not the lowest, he is usually within 25-50 dollars. I agree that he won't directly tell you he doesn't want a particular job, but his code is ""this needs to go to the dealer"". Some repairs are just probably more time intensive and they probably don't do enough of to make the time/labor equation work in their favor. I don't begrudge them this. We will continue to take our cars back to him. \r Pros: reliable, honest, fair pricing Cons: doesn't want some jobs, but may not outright admit more

Just making money 4/21/2010

I was hit by someone in a car accident and my car was taken right to Terry Youngs, my son was there before and he said he did a good job. Terry was a good talker and was very reassurring that the job would not only be fixed, but fixed exactly the way it was before the accident. He gave me faith. After was all said and done, my Service Tire Pressure Monitor light now comes on frequently and shuts off, i asked him to change the monitor on the tire... he said he did...mmm.. the light still comes on to this day. Now if he was so apt to making sure my car was fixed exactly the way it was before the accident, he would have made a point of fixing that issue. Now instead i have to deal with this flashing light on a daily basis. All and all he did a great job on the cosmetology of my vehicle, it still is not in exact working order before the accident had occurred. Well i recently called him for an estimation on brakes and he told me it wouldnt be cheap (sounded like something he didnt want to get involved in) maybe it wasnt a good enough money maker for him. I dont know but he told me he would do some pricing and get back to me and it has been 10 days and i am still waiting for his reply. I am not going to hold my breathe. I get the picture, most mechanics do not want anything to do with you unless you have lots of money in your pocket and your ready to throw it right out the window. I am finding this alot when it comes to mechanics and car dealers, that is why i dread having anything to do with cars because they are always trying to make an extra buck off of you. You can try him out if you have something small you need done, but if its not a money maker for him then he probably wont wast his time on you anyhow. His guys do good work when Terry's heart is in it, but he also knows how to throw in the towel as well. Then again, that is just my opinion. Pros: He gets the basic necessities repaired Cons: Doesnt go the extra mile more

Reliable and accomodating 1/28/2010

I have had my car repaired here several times for various issues over the last 2 years. I have never had to take my car back for them to repair thier own work. If its a minor issue I am usually in within 2 or 3 days and if it is an issue that is of an immediate nature they will get me in right away. They may not be the cheapest place in town but they are certainly less expensive than the dealers and I don't have to worry about paying them twice for the same repair like I do the dealers. Pros: Never had to have a rework more
