The Scene
There aren't many spots in St. Louis to get a taste of Southern cooking. But when you get a hankering, this place on Olive will satisfy your cravings and cholesterol needs. Located in what looks as though it used to be a Del Taco, Terri's isn't big on atmosphere, but what it lacks in quaintness it more than makes up for with delicious food.
The Food
Look for Southern delicacies such as neck bones, oxtails, fried chicken and ham hocks. Sides include collard greens, black-eyed peas, buttered beans and sweet potatoes. Collard greens are done to perfection and seasoned with ham. The black-eyed peas tasted as if they had been cooking for days and, like the greens, were flavored with savory ham. Also fantastic are the sweet potatoes, served with lots of sugar. The fried chicken is good but could be seasoned a little more, while the Salisbury steak is excellent.
