I had never eaten great Italian food until I visited the North End. Since my visit to Boston was brief, I decided on Terramia because of the many good reviews. The restaurant is set away from busy Hanover. It's actually larger than what the facade would imply. The interior is softly lit by candles and the seating is slightly cramped, which didn't represent a problem until people rose. Everyone in the restaurant seemed engaged in vibrant conversation and to be enjoying their dinners. \r

I thoroughly enjoyed my lobster risotto, which was cooked well and contained much more lobster than I expected. My girlfriend loved her duck and artichoke ravioli. The glasses of house wine cost on the higher side, but are still reasonable. The absence of dessert and coffee isn't a problem since there are stores that serve both near Terramia. The service is adequate and unobtrusive, although a bit on the slower side. The restaurant was bustling early in the week and later in the evening, so I assume that reservations are a good idea. \r
