Terra Bistro Breakfast 3/6/2010

the server was genuinely friendly and the food was simply amazing. the portion size was big enough, yet not too large that i couldnt ski. the ambiance of the restaurant alone was enough to make me feel like i was at a 5 star ski resort. all together; the perfect healthy breakfast Pros: stellar service, fresh organic ingredients, perfect portions Cons: nothing at all more

great Breakfast 3/6/2010

The food and the portion size were perfect. The service was great! Would for sure go back or recommend to friends. more

New Favorite Place for Breakfast 3/3/2010

I had a great meal for breakfast today. I had pancakes, bacon and a berry tasty smoothie. Everything tasted fantastic and was exactly what I needed to get ready for a big day on the hill. I was surprised at how affordable the breakfast was comparable to other places in town, and the fact that it was organic made it especially nice. Would definitely advise to try this restaurant out for breakfast. Pros: great food for good price more

excellent organic buffet breakfast 3/3/2010

I had a denver omelete that was very good along with fresh whole grain bread. The assortment of breads, yogarts, seeds, and eggs made it easy to get a little of everything I like for breakfast. The environment is very inviting and the coffee was excellent, which is of rare! Pros: great service and the best ingredients available Cons: I enjoyed the entire experience! more

Long-time favorite 11/18/2009

My family has been vacationing in Vail, Beaver Creek and Breckenridge since I was a child. We've been coming to Terra Bistro for about the last 10 years during the one week we spend in the valley in the winter and absolutely enjoy it everytime! The food has always been fantastic and the staff always a pleasure. My husband and kids accompanied me on a summer trip this year and we made an appereance at the bistro more than once! Try the Trout! and my husband looooooooved the Tenderloin! Check them out! Pros: Always friendly Cons: reservations during ski season more

Good Happy Hour for Apres Specials 1/26/2009

Nice bartenders for the most part. Some of them have a strange attitude like they are doing you a favor, but just be persistent with talking with them and they almost begin to treat you like a regular rather than someone who is in to get cheap drinks and good food for a good price. I highly suggest the crabcake martini, tuna tartare and the fried avacado. Everything here is organic and made from scratch as they proclaim from the moment you walk in. The breakfast is amazing. I had stayed here during my time in Vail a few weeks ago and the complimentary was a hell of a way to wake up. The drink menu is pretty deep and doesnt seem to have any drinks over 6 bucks during the happy hour which was from 430-630 which in Vail time seems like 8 or so anywhere else I've been, quite fun. Definitely recommend. Pros: Reasonably Priced Drinks and Appetizers Daily Cons: Small Seating Area more

Never again! 4/6/2007

First they lost our reservation then grilled us to find out if we were lying. The manager finally gave us a table after a 15 minute wait. The waitress was borderline rude, did not tell us the specials (told every table around us), never checked on us, forgot our wine with the entrees and our coffees and barely thanked us when dropping the $200 bill (for 2 adults/2 children!). The sommelier never came to our table to ""present his award-winning wine list"". The food was good, not great, and definitely not worth being treated like second-class citizens. Take your wallet to the Bighorn Bistro (in Vail Racket Club) - romantic atmosphere, very friendly staff, great food and reasonable prices (that is, for Vail). Cons: Snobbish, expensive, poor service, rude hostess and waitress more

Overrated and disappointing 12/27/2006

We travel often and have eaten at some very fine restaurants throughout the World. This was our second visit to Terra Bistro. We had a good meal last year and so on our visit this year we got past the snobby attitude and thought we would try again. We walked in and the hostess immediately ""suggested"" that we check our coats. She was making it clear that our jackets we a bit too casual for such a ""fancy place"". We were on vacation and so we ignored her. Our waitress was inattentive and bored and did not appear to like her job or her customers and at times she was rude. Frankly, we could have once again gotten past the attitudes for a fine meal. But we were disappointed. We were 5. My wife had a bland pasta dish. I had a dry and bland snapper, and my son had dry, Mexican-type tortillas stuffed with chicken. All and all at best disappointing. We spent over $400 with a moderately priced bottle of wine, merely adding insult in injury Pros: nice ambience if sit in main room Cons: snobby staff, bland meals more

Great food but 12/27/2005

We really loved the food. altthough it is a bit pricey, the dishes were interesting and delicious. The service was also very good but the hostess was very snobby and rude. I recommend not sitting by the windows on a cold night since the draft cooled my food before I could eat it. The ambience is nice and somewhat romantic but the crowd was definitely there ""to be seen"". Pros: great food, good service, nice bar Cons: drafty, snobby more
