We all love the Aquarium! My 5 and 3 year old love to go. They get so excited to see all the different fish and animals. The river otter's are our favorite. The greatest thing...

Aquarium 8/22/2005

We recently visited the new section of the aquarium. It is fun and interactive. It was pretty crowed when we went but it was a Friday afternoon in the summer. I don't think the new salt water section is as great as the fresh water section however. It was fun outing and we will go again. The membership was totally worth it and we get discounts at the Imax. more

Tennessee Aquarium 8/20/2005

The Tennessee Aquarium was the first aquarium I ever went to so it holds some fond memories for me. They have lots of interesting exhibits and you can learn many exciting facts as you explore the aquarium. The staff is eager to answer any questions you have and are generally very polite. It isn't as large as Ripley's but it is certainly as nice. more

Got Fish 8/18/2005

For a great family outing, visit the Tennessee Aquarium. The older section has lots of great things to see including river otters, snakes, and seahorses. The new section which just opened in the spring has a butterfly garden, sharks, and a place where you can touch the stingrays. Outside there are fountains to play in and several eateries nearby. more

Now with a new Salt water addition 8/18/2005

This is such fun. I have been there several times and also have given tickets as a gift item. They are/were primarily fresh water but now have a salt water addition with sharks and such. The aquarium takes you through Tennessee wildlife which is really neat. I can't wait to take my toddler this winter. Parking is not so great or at least you have to park for 5 dollars. They have a great gift shop too. more

Fun for the whole family 7/31/2005

We all love the Aquarium! My 5 and 3 year old love to go. They get so excited to see all the different fish and animals. The river otter's are our favorite. The greatest thing is the newest part which includes sharks. It's great seeing the fish swim over you. My 3 year old was a little scared at this part, but all in all he had a great time. more

A Great Aquarium for the City of Chattanooga 7/29/2005

The Chattanooga Aquarium is really impressive. It's a great place to take both kids and adults. We have taken our daughter there as well as my Grandparents. The design of the aquarium is really neat. Upon entering you first go downstairs to view the sea horse gallery (which is really cool) and then take an escalator to the very top of the building and work your way down in a zig zag fashion. There are huge tanks on both side of you, as well as off shoots on both side that have different displays. The original building, now called River Journey features fresh water fish. The new building, called Ocean Journey features saltwater fish as well as a butterfly garden. The two buildings are side by side, but not connected, so you do have to stop outside to get into the second building. The second building also has tunnels which you walk through, and can see the fish swimming around you. If you are in Chattanooga for a few days, look into combination tickets for the Aquarium, I Max theater and Creative Discovery Museum, as you can purchase them at a discount. more

Great place for family fun & learning 7/21/2005

This is a great place to take your family to learn about fish and all sorts of aquatic animals. THey have many exhibits & shows to educate you & thrill your whole family. They have a lot of tanks for viewing including a huge community tank with sharks & other things to thrill young ones. They also have a 'petting' tank where little ones can giggle as fish tickle their fingers. The Aquarium is home to over 12,000 animals including, fish, reptiles, butterflies, amphibians, invertebrates, birds & much more. Be sure to see their interesting Seahorse exhibit where kids & adults can learn all about these fascinating creatures. Also they recently added a new section with marine life saltwater fish and sharks. we've been here, we haven't wanted to leave because there is so much to do & since it's right in the heart of downtown & near so many other activities, you can plan a really fun day of sightseeing, shopping & fun. I should also mention that outside the aquarium they have a little sidewalk park for kids where water spurts out of little holes or fountains everywhere in the ground. It's a little kids' delightful paradise if they like water. There's also a carousel nearby. This aquarium is one of the best though and we've found it to be clean, well taken care of & even the cafeterias have great food in them. There's also some really cute gift shops you'll want to visit before you leave. All in all, this place can mean a great place for a date or a family fun day. Admission price is $17.95 for adults & $9.50 (child 3-12). You can also purchase combo tickets that include the nearby IMAX theater which is in walking distance. more

TN Aquarium 6/16/2005

If you need a great day trip, going to the Tennessee Aquarium in downtown Chattanooga, is a great idea! You can keep the kids entertained all day with all the different exibits, shows, gift shop, and the best is the IMAX theater across the street. You can get discounted combined tickets for both as well for a better deal. more
