I must start with the disclaimer that this is a Kosher meat restaurant, and they tend to be more expensive than a non-Kosher one.
My wife and I decided to try this as we have recently moved into the neighborhood. It was a weeknight dinner service and we were the only ones in the restaurant besides the staff. I have to admit to a feeling of foreboding at this point, although admittedly I think the location of this restaurant probably limits walk ins.
I believe the influences are Persian in the predominantly middle eastern fare offered. We had two starters Hummus and pita, and cigars ( a spiced meat wrapped in a light dough then fried). Both were good. My first glass of tea was still watery as I believe they had just stewed the pot, later refills were darker and more tasty.
My wife had a BBQ chicken salad which was plentiful and could easily have shared with another. I had a steak kabob plate. The food was tasty but nothing to write home about. The meal service seemed slower than I had expected but otherwise the owner seemed attentive to the table and our needs.
The shocker was the bill, which after tax and tip came to over $50. I just paid my Amex bill and the reminder of that amount for the whole experience put me off making this a regular haunt. I would do it again with a discount coupon though.
