Tel-a-Car always picks up promptly, and the cars are in great shape. I've never had a problem ordering a car from them. Unfortunately, there is a fly in the ointment. I use Tel-a-Car for business, and consequently, the charge goes on my Amex & I just sign the (incomplete) slip in the car. Recently, I've noticed several incidents where the charge was more than I expected, and when I asked for a fax of the final receipt, additional charges (such as tolls, when we had not taken a tolled route) had been written in and authorized by someone forging my initials. When I mentioned this to an officemate, I discovered that several other people had experienced the same thing on different trips.\r

Also, Tel-a-Car does not offer indoor pickup at airports unless specifically requested, which has led to at least one occasion where the driver and I could not find each other for at least 15-20 minutes as he supposedly circled the terminal. Rather than an apology for the inconvenience, was I charged for ""wait time"" in this instance? Of course! \r

At least the cars aren't a nasty surprise, as has been the case with a few other companies I've used on my own dime. However, I'm still going to be checking out the two other car companies my corporation has accounts with as a a hopeful alternative to Tel-a-Car's deceitful practices.
Pros: Nice cars, polite drivers, on-time pickup
Cons: false fees, no indoor pick-up unless requested (and paid for)
