I recently had to have my vehicle towed. I was referred to this company by my car insurance roadside assistance company. When the driver arrived he said that there was a $5.00 fee to accept a credit card, so we went to an ATM to get cash to pay our bill. When we paid him the $100.00, and asked for a receipt, the driver said that part of us paying cash and getting a ""discount"" was that we couldn't get a receipt. Sounds shady, huh? It gets worse.
So I found out a couple days after being towed that I could get reimbursed 100% of the tow expenses if I could give a receipt to my auto protection service provider. So I called the tow truck driver and asked for a receipt again. I asked him if I could pay for a receipt, or pay the difference of whatever ""discount"" he had provided me. He argued with me saying that I had agreed to not receive a receipt, but eventually said that he see what he could do and would call me back the next day.
The next day he did not call me back, so in the evening I called him back. Again, I offered to PAY for a receipt, or pay the difference of the ""discount"" to get a receipt and he outright refused. I contacted the car insurance roadside assistance company to request that they not refer clients to this company again. They decided to call the driver to ask for a receipt on my behalf and the driver said that ""he would check with his boss"". The roadside assistance person told me that the driver was ""very rude"" to him on the phone. The car insurance roadside assistance company told me to expect a call from the driver the next business day, and if he didn't contact me to call them back.
Needless to say, the driver did not give me a call back so I contacted my car insurance roadside assistance company again. They contacted the driver and this time he ""didn't remember"" providing service to me, even though they told him all of the details of the day and locations of the tow.
There is something seriously shady with this driver/business. I have no idea why he would not provide a receipt---even when I asked to PAY for one (which is something a customer should NEVER have to do anyways).
I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
