My Sister in Law brought me for her the first time I was excited! We pulled up to the parking lot, and my thrilled smile slowly vanished away. I was sad to find that parking spaces are limited. However we rapidly learned the secret of parking, we really giggled about that.\r \r As I walked into the store I felt as if I was on this magnificent adventure ride in a theme park (ehhee, I Looove secondhand stores they are one of my all time delights). I am addicted to secondhand stores? so as I was walking up the railed ramp I closed my eyes, tilted my head back a little, took in a deep breath with a very big grin only to smell the wonderful smell of all the treasures I may find or the steals I would purchase.\r \r When I got up around the corner I wanted to SCREAM Whooo Yeeesss, Yeess!! This store has a huge floor plan with fantastic selections of clothing brands; nick knacks ? Best Thrift Store in Town! 9/1/2008

WOW, What a Place!!. Yes, I've been going there for about 30 years. It used to be downtown on 12th ave. Now it's just a few minutes north of the old local; easy freeway access,street access, and bus access. If you can't find parking right away, just wait a few minutes (less than 5) and there's always people pulling out. There are no changing rooms to try on clothes, so if you're needing some jeans you can always find a large dress or skirt to put on over your clothes and change in privacy that way.\r There is also no bathroom, so if your there for a long time filling up your carts with great, reasonable priced stuff, and you gotta go, there's a golf shop across the street that has bathrooms.\r The music from the overhead speakers is good shopping music, lots of oldies, not weird elevator stuff or crazy fast nervous music, but some solid oldies; don't be ashamed to break out singing along with it sometime.\r The line is long for checkout, which is not a problem, because they have 3 to 5 more

Thrift Store Happiness 11/6/2005

Lovely selection of top qualtity items with everything imaginable held between their walls. Dont get that funny thrift store smell when you walk in like you do at a lot of the other thrift stores and the value here is amazing. Very large floor plan with complete organization. Nice atmosphere to browse through and a quiet corner for the book section. more

A good store 7/24/2005

Amvets has been around for years but moved to this location at least 5+ years ago. Not exactly the best part of town but most thrift stores aren't in the best areas. Amvets typically has a great selection of clothing and items for your home. Prices for collectibles are not cheap however if you find something that someone didn't know what it was, you'll typically buy it cheap. Amvets does have long lines but they do seem to have numerous mark downs. A good place to shop for used items. more

Good Selection 7/7/2005

There is a good selection of vintage clothing here, I didn't see as much in the way of children's clothing here though- although they update their stock frequently so who knows what may come up. Lots of good random gadgets and dishware, and cool things like salt and pepper shakers. Cheap stuff. more

As far as thrift stores go, this is a gold mine. It's the largest thrift store I've ever been to. The selection is huge. I'm not really a fan of these stores because they smell funny to me, but the money you save makes it worth it. It's nothing a good washing can't take care of. Also, they usually have some sort of deal on certain color tags, such as 50% off blue tag items for example. The store is as organized as possible. The line is usually long, but it moves pretty quickly. If you want to save a little cash on some clothes, furniture, basically anything you can think of, come to amvets! more
