beware indeed!!! 1/8/2011

There is a reason you see the ads for Teaching Temps on every teacher opening website. BEWARE! After 2 weeks of being told they could get me employment, they sent me a letter saying they found other people to fill their openings. WTF?? I called 3 times, only to be lied to by their staffing coordinator, Julia. I got the runaround for a week before I got a letter in the mail. Very disappointing, but I'm glad this happened after 2 of my teacher friends explained that Teaching Temps has a bad rap among school districts in the Twin Cities area. Apparently, they try to make money by charging schools a ""finder's fee"" of thousands of dollars. And, after signing their contract, you are tied to them for 6 months, so good luck getting that job unless your hiring school is going to pay the finders fee! more

Beware! 12/3/2008

I highly discourage any teacher from using Teaching Temps Inc. If you are a liscensed teacher there are many districts out there that need subs and pay just as well as Teaching Temps Inc. and do not make you sign a contract. Signing a contract with Teaching Temps will not only prevent you from finding a long term position but will also hinder you after you leave Teaching Temps. In your contract with teaching temps they tell you that it is easy to find long term position and there is ""no cost to you"". There is no cost to you because the school has a contract with teaching temps and they are required to pay a fee if they want to hire a Teaching Temps staff. The fee is thousands of dollars, which most schools can not afford. I have had a number of times in which a shool wanted to hire me but could not afford the Teaching Temps fee. Subbing for a dirstict rather than using teaching temps is a great way to get in and there are no fees involved and schools can and will hire you if they want. Pros: oppurtunity to see a lot of different schools, professional staff Cons: Hinders your ability to start a teaching career, employers don't look highly upon TTI more

Great Experience...I recommend it! 7/9/2008

Teaching Temps is a great company to work for. You have the opportunity to expand your knowledge as a teacher by having the ability to work at different schools. The office team is flexible with scheduling and location of where I work. The interaction between the office team and the employees is professional. There is an open communication policy in place, which I greatly appreciate. They also offer professional development opportunities. Pros: Wide variety of opportunities for professional and personal growth Cons: ? more
