I do not recommend this dealer/installer, the installation team on Beltline Road handled my car negligently, without care, and caused me and my vehicle problems that they are solely responsible for according to the warranty certificate that I hold.\r
\r
\r
This dealer is unwilling to stand up to their end of the Warranty on the Lifetime MADICO tint warranty certificate after the MADICO Charcool tinting that I purchased from this dealer failed on my vehicle.\r
\r
\r
This Dealer/Installer stated off of cursory visual inspection that the tinting failed due to abuse; and according to the owner of this establishment someone may have held a lighter to my window tinting to cause the failure.\r
\r
\r
I had to call MADICO headquarters to have this issue taken into further consideration.\r
\r
\r
MADICO itself stated that my Defroster was the cause of the MADICO tint failure based off of a HiD picture from a cellphone. As a result, I have to spend more of my valuable time and money to have my vehicle looked at as a result of going to this dealer.\r
\r
\r
This Dealer/Installer has stated that they 'reject' my claim for the tint failure (this information was relayed through the MADICO Warranty Customer Relations individual).\r
\r
\r
From warranty card:\r
""The installing Dealer, as an independent business, is solely responsible for the quality of the installation of the MADICO film installed on your vehicle.""\r
\r
\r
The MADICO warranty certificate directly states that:\r
\r
\r
“Madico, Inc., the manufacturer, (hereinafter known as MADICO) warrant its Charcool Window Films when installed on the interior glass surfaces of your automotive vehicle, truck, van or motor home by a participating MADICO Dealer/Installer for As Long As You Own Your Vehicle.""\r
\r
\r
""MADICO warrants the film covered by this certificate for AS LONG AS YOU OWN YOUR VEHICLE against fading, color change, cracking, crazing, delaminating, or adhesive failure due to discernible defects in manufacturing. If the film is found to be defective, MADICO will have the film replaced at no cost to you for film and labor.""\r
\r
\r
I am uncertain how this installer cleaned the window before applying the tint, but it took them over 1-hr and 30-minutes to apply MADICO Charcool tinting to my vehicles side and rear windows.\r
\r
\r
I looked up how window tinting is typically done and found out that one of the steps is to:\r
\r
\r
From eHow:\r
""Clean the Glass Thoroughly\r
o Aside from direct sunlight, the number one cause of tint failure is not cleaning the windows thoroughly of contaminants. Residue from cigarette smoke and protectants like Armor All can cause the film to fail to stick to the glass during installation or to peel off after installation. The best way to clean residue off is with window cleaner and a razor blade and scrub pad. Start from the top of the window and work your way down, cleaning every inch of the surface. Use a lint-free towel and glass cleaner to remove streaks.\r
It is important not to touch the window after its clean. The oils in your skin can cause the film to not stick during application.""\r
\r
\r
If this dealer/installer used razor blade(s) to assist in cleaning my rear window, damage to my rear defroster was likely as a the result of unsteady hand with a razor; which according to the MADICO Warranty customer relations is what occurred, he stated that defective defroster was the reason that the window tinting failed and melted.\r
\r
I personally feel abused by this dealer as well as MADICO currently; this place has caused me undue stress and lost time/money. Whatever happened to the customer always being right, isn't this America?\r
