i went to opa friday night with some friends. the atmosphere was fun and the waiters were very nice, they even danced with us! the food was amazing. the only negative thing i have...

Great fun with a warning or two 4/1/2005

This place is meant for group dining. because the whole point of the place is dancing, especially on the tables! This is not a date place, as we noticed tables of two people just kind of sitting and watching, while not paying attention to their date. Pros: Music, Food Cons: Service, Bill format more

This is not a date place, as we noticed tables of two people just kind of sitting and watching, while not paying attention to their date. The food is very good, no question. You must be prepared to accept that the bill should be split evenly going in, because Opa's bills never make sense. Even with a prix fixe set-up so that everyone gets the same thing for the same price, they break down the prix fixe by item on the bill! This combined with a drinks bill will make for a healthy fight, as our group did when we received the bill, effectively ruining out night. 'Tis shame, as we were having a blast before that. i went as part of a party of eight girls celebrating a bachelorette party, and had the best time! it is not a place for people who are cost concious...i think that my share of the bill was 60-80 bucks.... the loud, fun, crazy atmosphere was worth the price. we we're on the tables all night! we're looking for another excuse to go back to miami for a repeat! ---dallas, texas Pros: fun, fun, fun Cons: you're not going for, the food....it's avg. more

Opa used to be a great place, until a year or two ago. On our last trip, which wasn't even prime time, we were told there was a 'drink minimum' for our 8 party group. (After we turned down the 'family style' option which they try to present as mandatory.) We complied, then proceeded to order food, when we were told that there was a $20 per person food minimum. We drank the wine and ate as much of the food as we could before they started clearing it away (w/o asking if we were done, which we weren't). Then they brought the check and INSISTED that we pay and go. Now, you can establish a minimum, or turn the table aggressively, but not both. We PAID for our table. We won't go back. Pros: fun, great greek wine, table dancing Cons: pushy service , greedy more

You come here to have fun and have good greek mezze. The spanokopita wasn't as crispy as it should be, but the taste was good. The music is great and so is the ambiance. Once you're there, you feel like you're in Greece. Table dancing 11/11/2002

I loved this place its like no other in Miami. The food was good. VERY EXCITING! The belly dancers are good, better than I have seen at other places. If you are looking to have fun, dance if you like and forget about your problems this is the place to go. Only thing is we spent $100.00++ for three people becuase they have a minimum if you want a table. But I am going back again this weekend so I guess I did not mind it. We have been to TAVERNA OPA three (3) times in the last 2 years. We use it for special occasions..it's become "our place". It is warm and inviting. Wonderful selection of WONDERFUL GREEK food and wines! The DANCING on the TABLES is wonderful fun to both do AND watch! The BELLY DANCER is charming. It's a PERFECT place to go with one one you adore! Pros: affordable, great choice of wines, lots of FUN! more
