A beautiful hotel with a nice restaurant. I ate there for lunch on my visit and had a reasonably priced upscale lunch. Great ambiance, good service and a delicious meal.

Tavern on the Green inside the Hotel is a great bar with good food 8/6/2005

Located in The Hawthorne Hotel in Historic Salem, Tavern on The Green has a small menu that includes soups, salads, pasta dishes, wraps, chicken, and pork. It is decorated like a library with winged back chairs and a large fireplace. The windows overlook the Salem Commons which makes it ideal for sitting back and taking in the colorful leaves in the fall or the snowy park in the winter. They have the most amazing coffee and flavored liqours. Menu is reasonable priced and staff doesn't rush you. Great for a nightcap, or to catch up and chat with a friend. more
