I went here about 2-3 weeks ago and got my tounge peirced, the lady that did it was very laid back, and made me feel comfotable. She did the peircing very quick because she knew i was nervous. this place is awful the owner jeff was so rude and mean wasnt a nice person at all i let him pierce my lip and i expressed concern about the size of the jewlery he was using because it seemed to small he didnt listen and did it any way he then jut left not even bothering to say h ave a good day or anything then i ende up having to go back a few days later bc the piercing was sinking into my lip and needed to be removed he told me i would be ok bc he didnt have any jewley for me so deal with it so rude then i ended up going back and an employee name chris was nice enough to remove and redo for me since jeff wouldnt and didnt care long as he got his money which might i add he charged me an extra 10 dollars than i was told over the phone i wouldnt send my worst enemy to tatttoo jungle jeff works at the calera store most of the time but hes a part of them all i would recommend this place to a dirty rat out side just being honest more

I had been thinking about getting a tattoo for a long time, and I finally decided to take the leap. I had friends recommend Tattoo Jungle so I thought it was a good way to go. The girl that helped me at the front desk was pretty nice. It was clear that I had never gotten a tattoo before, and I really didn't know what I was doing. So, I appreciated her help with everything. After that it was horrible though. I had talked with the girl and it was written on the sheet given to the artist that I was getting a small white tattoo. clearly there were some communication problems between the front desk and and the artist because I ended up with a black cross. Huge mistake. When I saw it and freak out, the artist blamed it on me. He said I should have double checked on the color. We had discussed size and shape and everything, and I saw it on the paper so it's not like I just went in and didn't talk about it at all. Then he just walked out of the room still acting like it was my fault. I heard him and the girl from the front desk yelling at each other in the back. Then he came back in and said I could come back in two weeks and he would try to do something about it. He never apologized or offered a refund. Of course, I didn't go back I went to another tattoo place and they did the best they could to make it what I wanted. Even before the mess up, the artist was really rude. I will say that the healing process was fine, and I had no problems with infection. more

Talk to Jeff on the phone about the piercing I wanted. He told me about the cost and when to come. I showed up, signed the paper work, paid, was taken to a very clean piercing room. The piercing was over quickly and I was on my way. Have had no problem with piercing to date. All was pretty cut and dry but that was OK with me. I have gotten six tattoos from Jeff and all of them were done wonderfully and at a great price! I have referred several people to Jeff and they have all been extremely happy with their results. Jeff has also done seven piercings on me, opening a new needle in front of me every time and disposing the needle after wards. The ONLY problem I had was with my bellybutton, that's just because it was my first piercing and I played with it a lot so my body rejected it, I was upset at first but after he explained to me that, that happens when you play with it excessively, he repierced it and I didn't have any problems. The place is clean, nice, professional and fun. I won't go anywhere else. When I moved to MA, I waited till I came home for a visit to get any work done. Jeff and all the other artist work with you on the prices because they understand that times are hard right now for everyone. I LOVE this place!!!! Pros: Great Prices more

I got my belly button pierced there back when I was 16 and everything went great. I got a little dizzy right after, but that was just because of my nerves, not Tattoo Jungle. And they took great care of me, they gave me a coke and a candy bar and talked ot me for a bit to make sure I was ok. Everyone there were so nice through the whole ordeal. I actually havent been back in a long time and seen these Flat screens everyones talking about, but it actually seems like a good idea. And what does a Flat screen TV have to do with health code? As for everyone saying they had a bad experience with peircings, umm HELLOOO ur body probably just didnt want to except it period. EVERY tattoo and peircing shop has these things come up from time to time. Not one shop is PERFECTLY clean. Its a risk you take when you decide to get a tattoo or peircing. I disagree completely with the other posts. I have never had a problem with Tattoo Jungle in Pelham. So what the re-use needles after they are sterilized. Ever gotten your nails done, or gone to the dentist? The re-use instruments too after sterilization. I have had 1 tattoo a navel piercing, and a "down below" piercing done at Tattoo Jungle, and have not had one problem. I got my nose pierced at Cloud Nine in Southside, and had numerous problems with that one! Jeff(Tattoo Jungle) was very professional, friendly, and he knew what he was doing. And I do not think the flat screen TV in the cubicle is wrong. It gives someone something to look at the calm their nerves. I know it worked for me! All in all, Tattoo Jungle is the best tattoo shop by far. The people are friendly, professional, and CLEAN! I would recommend Tattoo Jungle to anyone. I have had 3 (2 navel and one industrial) piercings done here and ALL of them have rejected with a horrible infection. The first time I had a piercing done it got a horrible infection where green and yellow pus was coming out from under the jewelry, so I took it out and allowed it to heal. At first I thought I was doing something wrong with the aftercare, but when I talked to my physician and I found out it was not me it was their methods. (The piercing was too shallow, and the needle appeared to be not fully sterilized) Why I did this next thing will never make sense to me... I went back about three months later, and had two piercings done at once a standard industrial and navel. Both of which got a really bad infection and I ended up having to go to the emergency room from it. Later the next week when I quit throwing up, I did my research online and to me it looked like they reuse their needles, the packaging they open them from is easily opened and closed and is not factory sealed, which can be hazardous in the spreading of Hepatitis C, HIV, and many other serious health infections. For me that was the last straw, I called the owner Jeff about what had happened and he blew me off telling me that it must have been something I had done during aftercare or that another shop had done it... Please save yourself and go to a better shop than this no matter if it is for a piercing or a tattoo. Thanks to my experience I have two very large dark scars from my retired piercings and the thought of how lucky I was not to get HIV or something else. Do your research before getting a tattoo/piercing make sure to look at their health rating and their portfolios. I learned this the hard way, doing your research may save your life. so they have flat panels, if you would have noticed they also had in every station a ultrasonic and autoclave,and how they get away with this beats me,,,according to the alabama health dept,these things should be away from the customer and patrons,in others words NOT sitting there where you are getting a tattoo... a complete violation of alabama health code.... i can watch tv anywhere.. give me a tattoo shop that goes by health code,,, do they reuse there needles??? you would have to want a tattoo bad to get one there in my opinion.....i say AVOID Pros: nice sign Cons: need a copy of alabama health laws regarding tattoo shops more

I knew I would be passing through this town on my way south, and had previously been informed (on MySpace) that they had a new artist there. Andrew Switale(?) Sooo, I absolutely had to check it out! I'm amazed with this guy's portrait work! Superior professionalism!! And the shop is so high tech and CLEAN!! There are large, flat panel screens in each cubicle! The licenses and health board forms are displayed and up to date. I recommend this place - HIGHLY! My tat turned out fantastic! This guy's work was well worth the stop!!
