A Complete Joke...You're Better Off Eating a Corndog! 6/19/2011

I wish I had read some of the other reviews prior to my attempt at going to Tatiana's, as I would have skipped it altogether. After a lovely day at the beach, my boyfriend and I were ready for a nice meal. Our attempt at getting a table at Tatiana's? A complete joke. A woman simply put her hand up and shook her head no, while seating local Russian families, turning away non-Russian patrons, and leaving many many tables empty. My take? The only reason you even have a business is because it's the only restaurant on the beach, which won't last long with this discriminating attitude. I agree with the above reviewer, ""you can take your shitty attempt of a fancy restaurant elsewhere"" while I take my wallet away from this tacky place back to Manhattan for a delicious meal. The good news? Tatiana's doesn't want your business anyway. more

interesting mix 4/6/2011

let me start off by saying that the food is good and their is plenty to choose from the menu, and it all tastes good. that is a plus and the atmosphere is very relaxed and fun. however some of their food is overpriced, and ive been here only twice, and both waiters clearly didnt want to be there. more

I have never been there, but.... 6/19/2009

so much fun 5/3/2009

This is a russian supper club with Las-Vegas style entertainment. My husband and I decided to try it last night after some Russians we met recommended it. So we got dressed up and went. We enjoyed the show, and we did a lot of dancing. The food was tasty, but it is heavy so order carefully. To get in the right mood, we ordered a half-bottle of smirnoff. We had caviar and blinis and some delicious fish. It was the salad that was a problem since it was mayonnaisey. We met some really nice people, and we toasted each other with vodka. The service was very good especially considering the lights went down at show time and it was hard to tell the waiter what we wanted. But he was very nice and we got everything we needed. Overall we had a blast and we will return with our friends Pros: entertainment Cons: pricey more

Tons of decent food; rude waiter asked for bigger tip! 9/5/2008

This is the the sort of place you should visit once, but that should be enough. Tatiana has some authentic Russian elements (although the food is more Georgian - shishkebab type stuff) and most of the songs were in French, Spanish, or English, at least one thing was authentic: terrible service. Not a single wait said a word to us all night, unless you count the eye rolling when we informed them that one of our party was sick. When we received the bill, there was a 10% gratuity included, so we paid that and a little more. My philosophy is that if you force your clients to pay a gratuity (an oxymoronic policy), then you are forgoing the normal tip. Anyway, the waiter came over and made a big promotion about how offended he was that we didn't include an additional 15% tip on top of the mandatory tip. The whole thing left a really sour taste in our mouths. Would have been much happier paying an 18% gratuity or just giving the standard 20% that we would have paid if they didn't add it to the bill. Pros: Ridiculously funny and authentic (mid-70s Russian) show and food Cons: Be prepared for requests for ""bonus tip""; expensive, too much food more

You don't need to travel to Atlantic City to see a show. 7/14/2008

I was there yesterday, Sunday, and had a great.... great.... time. Where in Brooklyn do you go and see a show and then dance the night away with dico, eurotech etc.. ? It's not just a place to eat, drink and dance but to be on a boardwalk too that is filled with people strolling this beautiful enviroment with fresh ocean air and the breeze?... to die for. Pros: Food, sound system, ambience and service are great and they are kid friendly. Cons: Save up and take a special date. You won't be sorry. more

stay a way from tatiana 5/12/2008

I must say that WAS nice place while ago, and if you get there often you could see how GO DOWN... more

nice food, good service 1/29/2008

I loved it! The food was superb, not cheap, but well worth it. They have a show, a bit cheezy, but lots of fun. The service was very nice, very friendly, I did not even expect a good service at a Russian restaurant (I know what I am talking about!). The stage for dancing is a bit small, but we had a blast. Loved the location - took a nice walk on the boardwalk right after our meal. Pros: good food, can bring your own alcohol, nice location - near the ocean/beach Cons: food ain't cheap, small stage for dancing more

Food is OK, very expensive and service is horrible 12/16/2007

I parked with their valet service (they charge for it). A months later I received an ""unpaid ticket"" in the mail for expired parking meter that was issued while I was at the restaurant for parking 2 blocks away from a restaurant. I called the restaurant and talked to the manager. The manager told me that valet service is contracted out and gave me contact information for the Valet service company. I talked with the valet manager who initially said he will pay the ticket but never did. Now 6 months later and after 5 conversations with both restaurant manager and valet manager, I am stuck with the ticket and an overdue penalty. Pros: Location Cons: Parking, poor service more

truly great 6/26/2007

40 of us went for a reunion, the place was fab, great service, great food, wonderful entertainment. All in all nothing bad to say except bring your own alcohol as theirs is expensive. more

BAD service!! 8/4/2006

Waited for 20 minutes and no one comes to serve.(waitress smokes near youv but never comes) Pros: Good location Cons: bad service more

location and ambiance make up for rude servers 9/6/2005

The 'people watching' and table location (on boardwalk) made up for the rude service. The wait staff (at my table, anyway) were impatient, curt and unattentive. We ordered a dessert that was described on the menu as ""Hot Apple Strudel with Ice Cream"". The Strudel arrived cold. I politely brought this to her attention and she was very resistant saying that is the way it was supposed to beand that it was hot when she brought it. Please! Growling at us when we asked for water is one thing, but to just lie and make NO effort to satisfy, or apologize at these moderately high prices ($12.00 for the strudel) is unacceptable. They did replace the Strudel with the same strudel that was obviously microwaved for a minute (just warm) and dropped back on the same plate with the same melting ice cream. Don't expect treatment equal to the prices. Pros: location, atmosphere, people watching Cons: rude waitstaff, expensive more

Outstanding menu 1/18/2005

Tatiana has the most extensive menu of any restaurant I've visited. There are easily over 100 entrees. The food is very good and well presented. The grilled sea bass was delicious, as was the Greek salad. The staff is not extremely attentive and could be a bit more courteous, but the food and the pleasant ocean breeze will keep me coming back. more

awesome 12/12/2002

Great food, cant get any better, so much fun. Music was great. more

Simply, the best 8/13/2002

The ONLY bad thing about this restuarant is it's small dnace floor. Other wise this is definetly among the top 5 restaurants NY has to offer. The food is unbeatable!!!!!! The music is great!!! the place has an awesome decore, with fish swiming below certain tables. Pros: food, food, food Cons: small dance floor more
