Best

I've ate at every Indian joint in the valley and Punjab is leaps and bounds better than anything out there. My favorite is the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Chicken Coconut Korma....

Worst

food and service were very bad. chicken tikka was burnt and i asked them they just smiled.

Editorial review from Citysearch 1/26/2013

BIG disappointment. This restaurant once had a lovely lunch buffet for $9. They have done away with it, so I decided to try the take out. Bought 3 entrees and an appetizer for a family dinner -- it was ridiculously expensive at $48. The quality went downhill. The appetizers tasted like they had been on a warmer for a week. The chana coconut masala's chickpeas were crunchy rather than tender. The portions were small except for a boat load of rice. Will not be returning. more

Absolutely the best Hands Down!!!! 11/10/2011

I've ate at every Indian joint in the valley and Punjab is leaps and bounds better than anything out there. My favorite is the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Chicken Coconut Korma. If you haven't tried the Peshwari naan than you haven't lived. more

Best indian food in utah!!! 2/13/2010

Taste of punjab is easily the best indian food in all of utah. Pros: Great food, friendly service, best around more

One of our top favs 11/22/2009

We get food from this place almost once a month. We always get 2-3 dishes and 2 naan's. We had to work up to their ""spicy"" and it was worth the wait. We find ourselves craving this food all the time. You can always get it to go if you hate the wait. But ALL GOOD FOOD is worth the wait. Seriously yum yum yum.... now I want me some. Pros: Great Spicy Rich Food Cons: long wait more

Worth the Wait 6/2/2009

I live surrounded by Indian restaurants in downtown Salt Lake but make the trip out to Sandy whenever I want Indian food. It's always same two guys and I have to wait awhile, but it is so-- worth the wait. NO SOUPY BLAND CURRIES SO HERE. PUNJAB'S SPICY IS SPICY, THE CURRIES THICK AND RICH, AND EVERYTHING ITEM HAS IT'S OWN FLAVOR. I highly recommend their tandoori chicken, paneer masala, and plain lassi. Great selection of vegetarian options as well. Pros: Everything tastes so good!!!! Cons: Takes some time to get your food more

Great indian food 3/13/2009

Just a little restaurant with the same two guys everytime I go there. The food is great, but if they get busy, the wait can be a little while. Pros: authentic indian food Cons: slow service more

Probably the best Indian in Salt Lake 1/3/2009

I've tried all the Indian Restaurants in the Salt Lake area. This one is my favorite hands down. Sometimes the service is not the fastest, but the food is always in top form and worth the wait. Their lunch buffet is also awesome. Pros: Excellent food Cons: Sometimes a bit of a wait for the food. more

Awesome! There's no looking back! 6/10/2008

I haven't eaten better Indian food anywhere. Not in New Jersey, not in CA. The food is brilliant. The service is polite and wonderful! The naans are to die for. I don't eat meat so I can't particularly comment on the murg and the gosht but the veggies are divine. The kulfi is sinfully yummy. I am impressed. Pros: The Wonderful food, the price Cons: None I can think of more

Still great food - very poor service 1/2/2008

We love the food and go here more than anywhere other than Sushi Express. Given that most people that review Taste Of Punjab mention the very poor slow service, you'd think they'd fix it. Pros: Best Indian in town Cons: Slow indifferent service more

Delicious food but with slow service 12/16/2007

The food here is great, I luv the chickpea masala. The lunch buffets are good, and so are the mango lassies. However, we went for dinner and it took 10 minutes to get menus and 1.5 hours to get our food. While we were there, a family came in and sat down & their food was served within minutes. Turns out they had actually called their order ahead of time. I would definitely recommend the place, but you might want to bring a magazine or novel with if going for dinner. Pros: food quality Cons: service, turn-around more

Best Indian Food In Salt Lake City 12/6/2007

This place is the best Indian food I've ever eaten in Utah, and mabye the best Indian I've eaten anywhere. Highly recommended. more

Great food - weak service 8/26/2007

We were very pleased with the food. The chicken vendaloo and nan were great and the ""tripple fire"" version of the chicken masala was the hottest thing I've ever eaten in a restaurant. I love it when you ask for really hot and it actually is really hot. It was breathtaking. Pros: Great foods, as spicy as you want it to be Cons: Poor service, a bit pricy for a strip mall Indian place more

Great Indian Food 12/5/2006

Out of the Indian Restaurants in Salt Lake City, Taste of Punjab is the best. Chicken Tikka Masala is really good!! more

Delightful ! 5/10/2006

I am very familiar with Indian food. Taste of Punjab is wonderful, very authentic and the service is great. It is family operated and they do their best to serve you well. Their butter naam is delicious. Any dish for dinner is great. It is a restaurant to relax and enjoy all the aromas, not wonderful for small children even though I have been there with our two year old daughter many times and she loves it. Pros: good food, authenticity, good service Cons: a place for adults more

It's a Treat 1/16/2006

On a hunch, we stopped by A Taste of Punjab. As the second group of guests (we came early), we were greeted and seated promptly. Appetizers and drinks came as expected, but when the main course came, we were delightfully surprised. We had coconut shrimp curry, the onion baji, and the naan. The waitstaff was delightful and the food was exquisite, and the cost was more than fair. We'll be back for more! more

Slooooow service and unappetizing food 12/26/2005

We were visiting in a large group of 9 for dinner. It took them an HOUR to get our appetizers and they got the wrong stuff. That took another 20 minutes to correct. Another HOUR of waiting got us our sub-par dinner. This place is a total mess. If the food had been half-way decent, the waits would have at least been slightly more tolerable. When we said we didn't want our entrees, since we'd waited so long, the waiter just didn't listen to us. more

dispointed 8/14/2005

food and service were very bad. chicken tikka was burnt and i asked them they just smiled. more

good food most of the times 7/31/2005

The food has been good mostly, but once the paneer dish was burnt and when I told them, they said ""ok"". I expected a much better service than that. more
