When my friends and I set out to treat ourselves to good wine and great food on a recent Friday night, we decided on new hot spot Taste. While the atmosphere was nice and the wine tasting fun, the food/service ruined the whole experience. While our hostess was great, our dirty finger-nailed waiter kept making worse and worse recommendations. We started with a cheese plate, which was delicious and creative. We expected our next choise of beef carpaccio to be on that level, but it was literarly inedible. Served on a BBQ chip (which was worse than a Lay's chip) this menu item lacked flavor, salt, and anything worth recommending. When we told our waiter this, instead of apolgizing and offering a replacement dish, he just smirked rudely. We then tried a panini with tomato soup - definantly not what I remember fondly from my childhood as the panini had maybe half a slice of cheese on it and the soup was flavorless once again. We then tried one more time to find something to make the trip to Taste worth it. We ordered the tuna. BIG mistake. It was fishy and flavorless, not to mention the knife skill were quite lacking. The aftertaste stayed with us, and not in a good way. (It literarly made me sick) All and all, the evening was a terrible mistake, that sadly could have been made completely different if our waiter had so much apologized for the food. Every establishment can have an off night, but the fact that there never was so much as an offer to appease us in any way makes Taste a disaster, and one my friends and I will never try again. What a let down! Take your money and patience elsewhere.
Pros: Cool wine set up
Cons: Service and Food (esp. the tuna and carpaccio!)
