Couldn't decide where to go last night. Been to Taste 3 times and the food was always good. So we returned and we each ordered a fish dish and a dinner salad. I finished my salad in about 10 minutes. My wife likes to eat a little salad and save the rest for dinner. 20 more minutes go by as we watch the chef talk with the customers next to us. I finally say, "are we going to get our entrees"?? and the chef says, accusingly, "didn't the server just take your salad plate? and I said, "yes, my wife got tired of waiting and she finally set her plate aside. She likes to eat her salad with her meal". The chef said again, accusingly, "did you tell your server, because we don't start the entre until you are finished with your salad". I said, "I did not know there were specific rules, and he said, you can just leave". I was astonished that we were being treated the way we were. We were being treated like we had created a disturbance in the restaurant and needed to be asked to leave. I want to reiterate, that we just had sat there silently wondering where are food was, and when we both asked, we were accused, attacked, and then asked to leave. We still don't know why the chef acted like he had. all he had to do was say, oops! I'm on my way to the kitchen, say good bye to his friends and go fire up our entrees. No big deal. Instead it was like we were being unreasonable in wondering where our food was. I guess we interrupted his conversation and he needed to be an ass. It was very upsetting, I will take the time to inform everyone I know how we were treated. It is a shame, because there are only a few nice restaurants in the area. We left and went to Park Central and enjoyed the rest of the evening. Someone needs a lesson in etiquette and how to be a gracious host.
