Tarwheels has no competition! And they know this. I went there for the very first time last week and was NOT impressed. When I paid, there were several people standing there and it took a moment to get their attention, then the guy looked put out that he even had to help me. Then I went to get my skates and there was no one in that area, so another wait to get someone to help. This person looked put out as well. So then I put on my pathetic rental skates that barely had laces and toe stops and started skating. There was no floor guard for safety, the floors are cracked and bumpy, and the sound system was shot. It smelled like stale cigarette smoke and, as a smoker that is pretty bad when I can even tell. Then I went to get a drink from the concession stand. There was no one there and I waited again. Then when the woman rounded the corner she acted like someone had shot her puppy when she saw someone needed service. So she gave me my very small drink for a dollar with no smile or thank you! This place NEEDS some competition or they will never get better. I am sure the younger crowd doesn
