When you think of Labor Day, what do you usually think about?
For me, Labor Day signifies the dreaded "Back to School" time. Thank god I am entering my last year of college, so I could finally end the "Back to School" phase. Personally, I know that most parents and students buy their school supplies during Labor Day weekend. So, the real question is, where should I do my "Back to School" shopping?
Personally, I love shopping for school supplies during Labor Day weekend at my local Target Greatland (http://www.target.com ). Just looking at the store, I keep asking myself, what don't they have? From school supplies, foods, clothes, furniture, and tools, you can find great deals on all these items.
What I love most about Target is that most stores set aside a specifc place just for back to school items. School supplies has it's own section in the store (separated from office supplies). When you look at the prices, you'd think Target was insane. For example, take a look at a 10 pack of 70 page notebooks. How much you ask? $1.00. That's right, a buck. How about crayons for your kids? You could get them for less than a quarter. How about book covers? Less than a buck. You can also find a pack of pencils that'll last a whole school year for less than a buck as well.
Well, you now might be asking me "Julian, I'm not a college student, nor do I have children, so what other Labor Day deals can I find?" Well, you can find all your favorite deals by checking out your local Target flyers, or you can look at the online Target flyer by accessing http://weeklyad.target.com/target/new_user_entry_page.asp . When you hit that page, you need to type in your zip code and hit enter. What I also love about Labor Day weekend at Target is that the electronics go on sale, and who doesn't love electronics? You'll see items such as calculators, printers, DVD players, and CD players all go on sale between 15% and 30% off!
How about clothing? Yup, Target puts those on sale during Labor Day weekend as well. Many jeans, shoes, shirts, and pants will have price cuts for the weekend.
With all this Labor Day shopping, I'm sure you'd be hungry. No problem. Most Targets these days have their own specialty food mart located in the front of the store. Here they sell popcorn and hotdogs and soda with other snacks so you can get refreshed and ready for another round of shopping.
I guess you should now be equipped for Labor Day. The real question is "Are you ready to save a lot of money at Target?"
