I was going to move in because they had a good trainer, But then I had a meeting with the Owner of this place and she was an Awful person. Very mean and nasty. Pros: close to the creek Cons: Owner and footing more

disapointed in the bashing... 4/27/2009

Having boarded at Tar farms for a certain amount of time, i do know what i am talking about. Tar farms was an excellent place, to learn the basics and essential horsemanship skills needed to survive in the horse world. However, when it comes to being taken as a serious competitor in the dressage world, Tar Farms Dressage was not the right place for us. Ask any major competitor at a large show, and not a single person would have any idea about the facility or the people there. There is nothing wrong with that. Both small and large facilities are needed everywhere, however this particular place is not competition focused. The facility itself is very nice, and has nice trails surrounding the property. On another note, i would like to write about how disappointed i am with the people writing extremely rude comments regarding NicLovzRols posting. Having been at Tar for such an extended amount of time, i am confident that i know who has written these things. And i can assure each and every one of you that NicLovzRols is not who you think it is. And shame on all of you for jumping to conclusions and attacking said person when they did absolutely nothing to deserve any of your negative comments. This is yet another perfect example of why we left. A person can only take so much backstabbing. And its sad that the bitterness has continued this long after we left the facility. I have no wish to continue this flame war, however i needed to post this in defense of the girl accused of being NicLovzRol. I know without a doubt she never made that post. So i write this in her defense. Many boarders will know who i am after posting this, and thats fine. However if you have a problem with me voicing my opinions tell me to my face. Pros: nice stalls Cons: disapointment in the maturity of certain individuals more

Great Boarding and Training 4/20/2009

I have boarded at Tar Farms for almost 2 years now & I remain a highly satisfied customer. My horse remains happy and healthy, as well. A low key atmosphere, high quality training personnel in a variety of disciplines, responsive management, and super-friendly boarders (among other things) convince me that I will remain here for a long time to come. I've taken dressage lessons and found the staff to be highly trained and able to work with all levels of student and ""student horses"" with care and respect - not to mention a lot of fun! Both my horse and I benefit from our lessons and look forward to many more. I don't know where this flame war came from but I urge you to come and see for yourself. You and your horse will enjoy Tar Farms and all it has to offer. Pros: Excellent Training Staff, Great Care, Responsive Management Cons: No covered arena more

Ridiculous! 4/17/2009

First of all let me start out by saying Tar Farms has an amazing dressage trainer and everyone at the barn is family. The comments made by all the negitive reviewers are ridiculously incorrect and there opinion does not matter!! NiclovzRol I'm very happy and impressed that you are moving up in your TRAINING levels. good for you :) how many years have you been riding? Pros: Everything more

I am speechless 4/16/2009

I am actually dumbfounded after reading NiclovsRol's comments, along with the other negative statements. How can anyone with any integrity write such shameless accusations, when all it would take is one trip to Tar Farms to see how ridiculous those remarks really are. Why do people try to blame others for their own inabilities and failures? Pros: come see for yourself more

Favor 4/16/2009

NiclovzRol do your Horse a favor and stop riding. It is not the lessons its your talent that is worthless, some people never lern it. May be you should let everybody know where you are riding now , so we can all come and watch you going up level's and not just write a stupid review. Pros: Dressage Trainer Excellent Cons: non more

Troublemakers 4/16/2009

I find it very interesting that former boarders and trainers have nothing better to do with their time than to wage groundless smear campaigns especially when riders who claim to be doing so well really aren't when you see their scores and know what's happened to their horses since they left. Pros: Everything!!! Cons: Nothing, now that negative people have left more

Too much Drama 4/13/2009

I boarded here and took worthless lessons never learned anything. I moved because of all the Drama with the kids and adults in the barn. Awful place. Pros: close to river bed Cons: dressage trainer more

Tar Farms is great! 3/30/2009

I've been at Tar Farms a long time and have no idea what these two negative reviewers are talking about. Management is responsive. The facility is good, much better than others in the area. As a matter of fact, I was talking to brand new boarders last week who visited all the big facilities in Orange County and chose Tar Farms despite living 35 miles away. Management has taken an active approach in assuring that only quality and ethical trainers work on premises. It's a wonderful place and I feel fortunate to have my horse there. Pros: Trainers, proximity to trails, variety of stabling options, Cons: None, except former trainer who makes negative posts more

My horse lived here for a few months.. AWFUL PLACE! 3/21/2009

Yuck...not great, Owner doesn't care! Pros: nothing Cons: everything more

TAR FARM DRESSAGE 2/26/2009

Tar Farm Dressage is a professional set up for Horsetraining and Lessons at Tar Farms. more

Best Stable in San Juan Capistrano 2/26/2009

The identity of the person giving the negative review has been traced back to a disgruntled former trainer at the facility. This person has been known to take such vindictive actions against those in the horse community and personally. You'd think someone would get over it and move on after more than 2 years if she were so great. Pros: Everything! more

TAR FARMS IS GREAT! 2/25/2009

I don't know what the previous reviewer could possibly be talking about. The dressage trainers at Tar Farms, are unlike MANY others. They love their jobs, love the horses and work hard to help every rider achieve their individual goals. The dressage area is full of friendly boarders who like each other and look out for each other. It's a great place to have your horse and to ride every day. Pros: LOCATION, rent is cheaper than other barns in the area, family setting, access to trails more

Not Recommended Below Average Horses not cared for properly. 2/10/2009

Management doesn't care about your horse and they always take the last months rent. Dressage trainer lies about working horses and places last at every competition. more
