The street tacos at the sidewalk barbacoa cart are really the best in San Francisco. I like the carne asada and chorizo, but the cabeza, suaderno and tripas are a clue that this is the real-deal ... that and the fact that they're not shy about grilling up the tortillas with a splash of lard, right in front of you. Served on paper plates at $1.50 a pop, they're the no-frills, best deal for this type of Mexican street food. It's authentic and still undiscovered, unlike the deservedly-recognized La Taqueria. If you can get into pretending you're vacationing in Mexico, the fussball table and jukebox decor is almost quaint. This is a great place to take friends from out of town for a uniquely SF Mission experience.
Pros: Barbacoa, Cheap! Cheap! Cheap!
