Tapestry

I always feel kind of strange walking into a salon when all of the hair dressers are sitting and chatting and no one is cutting hair. After reading reviews online about the great cuts I made an appointment in Louisville to get a trim. It wasn't a disaster, but the result wasn't exactly great either. I got a decent cut by a somewhat grumpy hairdresser, maybe it was the lack of customers. All around it was a mediocre salon, I will make the trip into Boulder at another salon to have my hair done next time. more

Tapestry IV Seasons is a decent enough place to get a manicure, pedicure, waxing, or even a haircut. It's a very comfortable atmosphere in a relaxed environment. The downfalls I've noticed are that you sometimes have to wait past your appointment time and I didn't find the facial I got there to be all that great. The person giving the facial wore Latex gloves, which didn't feel very good or promote relaxation. The room was also directly nextdoor to Chipotle and someone's child was screaming, so that was also not conducive to relaxation. But for your simple waxing or pedicure, Tapestry seems just fine. more

When Tapestry first opened their Louisville doors, I was thrilled to have a nice salon so close to home versus having to drive to Boulder. I was even more excited to learn they only charge $20 for a child's haircut. My daughters really enjoyed going to an "upscale" hair salon versus the assembly line haircut places like Cost Cutters, etc. However, on about our 3rd visit to Tapestry, one of the hairdressers (Zoey) ran a comb through my 10-year old daughter's dry, rather thick hair, whacked off an inch or so, then declared the job was done after about 5 minutes. I was stunned! She didn't even wash it first! She didn't section the hair off, either. This was totally unexpected and atypical of our previous experiences at this salon. When I questioned Zoey's method of cutting my daughter's hair, the receptionist merely shrugged it off and said, "It's up to the stylist to determine the best way to cut an individual's hair. Most kids' hair is so thin, this is the best way to do it. Besides, most kids don't have enough patience to tolerate having their hair washed and then having to sit through a long haircut." Well, let me tell you, my daughters love to be pampered and will let anyone style their hair as long as THEY have the patience to do so. To say I was dissatisfied with Tapestry that day is an understatement. I was insulted, and so was my daughter! Needless to say, no tip for Zoey that day, and no more Tapestry for me ever again! Oh, and by the way, I corrected the haircut at home. Because of the wave in my daughter's hair and the fact that it was cut dry and without sectioning, it was a mess! Thanks for nothing, Tapestry!! more

Like many individuals well into their late twenties (read: extremely well into their late twenties), my wife periodically goes to a hair salon for a cut, and a color weave. I find the second procedure to be ridiculously costly, but it makes her so happy and since I have no hair, we save on that end. Tapestry is not merely a hair salon. They also do pedicures, manicures, laser treatment, massage, and yoga. It's a full service spa that has a reputation for very consistent service. And I have it on good authority that as a hair dresser, Amy couldn't be better. more

You will feel like a princess when you leave. They also have a great boutique now with a fun and quirky selection of gifts and clothing. more
