Dr. Tanz recently retired and sold his practice to Oaks Dental.I only found this out when I went to make an appointment to continue work in progress. Part of that work was a brand new set of dentures (upper & lower) for which I paid him $1,500. Well, it seems that when Tanz closed up shop he directed that everything be discarded INCLUDING MY DENTURES! No pre phone call. Just out with the garbage. This was my property, not his. He had no right to be so cavalier with someone else's paid property! I have contacted him twice by letter appealing to his sense of decency asking for reimbursement, but on neither occasion have I heard from him. For shame! He should be embarrassed but apparently is too cheap to even contemplate right from wrong. My new dentist (not Oaks Dental) was appalled when he heard my story as he knows Tanz for many years. As he said, ""Josh can well afford refunding you the amount of the dentures."" more

I think that Dr. Tanz is a great dentist! I had a dental emergency and Dr. Tanz came to my rescue. I had been a patient of his for a few years and will now be one for life. I've decided that it's worth going in for regular check ups cause I want to avoid future pain and expensive dental work. Pros: Great attitudes in a great enviroment more

He is always available because he looks at his watch without you noticed and count the time he had spent with you y he goes over he start to be rude and trying to get you out of the room ignoring your dental concerns. Cons: all more

I usually do not take the time to write reviews but I had to write this one. Please Please BEWARE of Dr. Tanz. If I could have rated him a 0 star, I would have. I went in with pain in two teeth. He looked at them and said I need fillings. Great! I thought. He filled them and I was on my way. A few months later, I went to a new dentist who noticed a my tooth was cracked under one of the fillings that was done when x-rayed. He looked at both fillings and told me he had NEVER seen such bad and BIG fillings done (SILVER) on a tooth before and that they needed to be removed for 2 crowns and a root canal on one of them. I went to a 3rd dentist (due to my lack of trust -THANK YOU DR. TANZ) and didn't say anything to the new dentist, but asked for a general exam and x-rays. She came back with ""BAD NEWS"". She told me the SAME thing. She had never seen such awful fillings done and it looks like due to the bad job, I have decay down to my bone in one and need crowns on both. The ""poorly"" done fillings allowed decay to build in my teeth through the fabulous cracks Dr. Tanz had made in one and the AWFUL sealing of ""an oversized filling"" (as described by both dentists whom I later saw.)
